Job Description:
PURPOSE OF ROLE & EMPLOYING ENTITY DESCRIPTION

Rakuten Europe Bank S.A. started operating as a bank in 2016. Prior to that it was known as Rakuten Payment Services S.A. a Payment Institution intermediating payments between the consumers and the merchants on the Rakuten's European e-commerce platforms. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Accounting team and Finance Business analysis support (20%):

- Support the Accounting manager on ad hoc basis into her role (audit requests, end-of month selected bookings preparation, journal upload technical bug fixings, Temenos uploads bug fixings)
- Implement small but accretive improvements, adapt existing processes, controls and checklists upon Accounting manager’s or CFO’s requests.
- SAP B1 issue log management. Resolution with either internal or external specialist resources.
- Business analysis and documentation on various Finance aspects (SAP B1, existing team XL workings, Factoring Finance workstream support etc).
- Finance controlling & Management reporting activities (60%):

- Own the bi-weekly re-forecasting activities.
- Design and Implement new XL financial dashboards.
- Own the monthly management reporting pack update.
- Own the annual budgeting and 5-year planning exercise.
- Own the BPC (management reporting tool) for actuals and forecasts submissions and subsequent queries.
- Ad hoc financial analysis (standard labor cost update, indirect cost allocations, KPIs etc.)
- Projects & process improvement activities (20%):

- Promote improvement and automation in finance processes by furthering usage of advanced XL, PowerBI, Tableau etc.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE
- Relevant degree in the field of finance or accounting and 4+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience in bookkeeping, invoicing/billing, payments, audit processes are a plus.
- Prior experience and interest in finance business analysis or financial reporting are strong advantage.
- Experience of regular reporting to HQ on Finance accounting and management accounting within internet e-commerce, banking, Payments or Fintech industries is an advantage.
- Relevant certification desired (CIMA, CFA, CPA, ACCA, DESCF, MSc etc.)
- Superior IT literacy skills including Excel (advanced nested formulas, PowerBI, Power Pivot) SQL query coding or VBA macros skills are a definite plus.
- Preferably has experience of SAP BusinessOne, Core Banking systems (Temenos T24, Sopra, Olympic ERI, etc.) or similar financial accounting/banking systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships across European businesses, international company and with internal and external partners.
- Rigorous, organized and disciplined, with strong team player abilities.
- Autonomy in tasks and priority management, ability to manage several projects and multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English. French or Japanese language skills are an advantage.
