The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its** EIB Global Directorate - Corporate Finance and Global Activities Department - Equity and Funds Division - Private Equity Unit, **at its headquarters in Luxembourg**:TRAINEE**

**_ Please note that the Programme is created under the Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF) and is open to young nationals from one of the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Region (Algeria, Egypt, Palestine, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia) and ACP (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific) Region, all 79 ACP Partner Countries (please see Provisions section)._**

**Objective of the traineeship**:
The overall goal of the traineeship is to provide you with a good overview of the work of the Private Equity Unit. You will participate to the development and analysis of the team's pipeline of opportunities, including to the market mapping exercises on Latin American and South-East Asian private equity and venture capital markets (funds-of-funds).You will prepare a detailed analysis of the pipeline, as well as draft presentations about the team's activities, deal flow and impact metrics.

The benefits to you would be direct experience of the activities of an innovative team working on private equity and venture capital in emerging markets. You will gain insight into the development of pioneering financial products to accommodate the needs of market niches (incl. support to female entrepreneurship and digital sectors in emerging markets).

**Responsibilities**:
Under the supervision of the Head of Unit and senior colleagues, you will actively participate in the Unit’s core activities. Your main tasks will be:

- Participation in the market mapping exercise on Latam and Southeast Asia private equity and venture capital markets;
- Participation in the detailed analysis of the pipeline of the team.
- Work on the impact metrics of the existing portfolio.
- Participation in developing presentations about the activities of the team.

**Academic qualifications and professional skills**:

- Final year of studies or University degree of a MENA/ACP partner country in Finance, Economics, or Engineering (preferably with a Business/Finance angle);
- A first experience in Fund-of-Fund, Private Equity or Venture Capital investments will be considered as an advantage;
- Good to advanced knowledge of MS Office software, in particular Word and Excel;
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Good knowledge of written and spoken French, Spanish or Portuguese will be an asset.
