Objective of the traineeship:

The objective of the traineeship is to enable two recent graduates to gain practical experience in investment approaches and project finance that promotes socially sustainable and inclusive development, by supporting the implementation of three areas of work outside the EU, notably
- the EIB's upcoming Social Sustainability and Inclusion Framework (SSIF),
- the piloting of social impact financing and

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare periodic reports on progress and learning emanating from all three workstreams
  • Support outreach efforts, including presentations and trainings related to all three areas
  • Work with colleagues to collect and/or assist to collect case stories, best practice documentation, lesson learned; and update and manage that information in project's reports and other knowledge products.
  • Support the unit in gathering, documenting and analysing relevant information.
  • Contribute to developing and managing knowledge products.
  • Participate in virtual internal and external monitoring through assisting in organizing and facilitating various events such as meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars.
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities related to social sustainability and inclusion thematic areas as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Support data collection, verification, compilation, synthesis and analysis as needed
  • Review and compile monitoring reports, project progress reports, lessons learnt reports, photographs, case studies video documentaries, PowerPoint presentations, etc.

Academic qualifications and professional skills:

  • Education:
  • Final year of studies or University Degree of a MENA/ACP Partner Country in international development, social development, social anthropology, gender studies, political risk, international relations, sustainable finance or a relevant field
  • Experience:
  • Knowledge of writing reports, and designing tools for data collection, analysis and production of reports;
  • Good interpersonal, communications, and facilitation skills;
  • Knowledge of managing databases;
  • Knowledge of issues pertaining to gender equality and/or fragile & conflict affected countries would be a significant advantage.
  • Language:
  • Proficient in English
