Objective of the traineeship:


You will work in EIB Global in the Strategy and Policy Division and will support the work of two teams engaged in the development and implementation of new mandates for Outside EU as well as participate in the monitoring of the business plan and operational objectives of EIB Global.

You will also familiarize yourself with the Bank's systems and workflow and, under the supervision of the Heads of Unit and/or senior team members, will engage with other services of the Bank and external stakeholders, as relevant.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the 2023 operational achievements for EIB Global in the ACP and MENA regions
  • Providing business statistics and market assessments relevant for decision making and business steer
  • Contributing to the forward looking operational plan for the ACP and MENA regions
  • Contributing to EIB Global's strategy for ACP and MENA regions
  • Contributing to the development and negotiation of new EIB mandates with relevance to the ACP and MENA regions
  • Assisting in the coordination and production of procedures for new EIB mandates with relevance to the ACP and MENA regions
  • Producing presentations and awareness raising material around flagship EIB programs with relevance to the ACP and MENA regions
  • Assisting in the implementation of EIB mandates active in the ACP and MENA regions, including liaising, where relevant, with other EIB services and/or Member States or the European Commission.

Academic qualifications and professional skills:

  • Final year of studies or University degree of a MENA/ACP Partner country in a relevant field (economics, legal, business administration, international development)
  • Good understanding of financial products and/or banking practices
  • Experience in client portfolio monitoring would be an advantage
  • Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
