**LISER** invites qualified and motivated applicants for an internship position in the **Urban Development and Mobility Department (UDM)**, within the framework of the research project « **Sustainable Residential Densification (SusDens)** », under the supervision of Dr. Hichem OMRANI.
- Develop and improve methodological and programming competences in the fields of machine learning and data analysis ;
- Develop rigorous scientific research attitude and methods for solving specific problems ;
- To be part of a stimulating, dynamic and international research environment.

**Your Role**:

- studying and developing supervised and unsupervised learning methods applied for automated pattern detection (classification) in large satellite imagery data ;
- implementing the developed algorithms using Python language for testing and compare the performance of the proposed algorithms ;
- contribute to other activities related to the project.

**Your Profile**:

- You are enrolled as a **Master student** in **Computer/Data Sciences, Engineering** or a related discipline ;
- Good programming skills in **Python** and knowledge in **machine learning** is required ;
- Knowledge of **Shell scripting** and **Git** would be considered as an asset ;
- Data handling skills for both raster-based and vector-based large spatial data would be a plus ;
- Fluency (oral and written) in English, any other language would be considered as an asset ;
- Ability to take own initiatives, as well as a strong ability for teamwork.
