Join us as Systems Business Analyst
The role is part of the Alternatives Systems IT Department supporting a fast-growing business of Alternatives which includes Real Estate Investment, Private Equity, and Hedge Funds products.
The Alternatives Systems Business Analyst functions - within the Alternatives Systems team - as liaison between technical and business user groups. S/he must be able to interpret what the users need and translate those requirements into detailed specifications supported by our development methodology. S/he must also be able to identify design and development options and communicate the pros and cons of these effectively to both business and technical audiences. The Systems Business Analyst will participate in all phases of the systems development life cycle; including project scoping, planning, functional design, system testing, training and implementation.
On top of the projects and tasks described above, the Alternatives Systems team is looking for this new member to also be the Alternatives Systems team’s Data Steward for the existing eFront platform. The Data Steward will ensure that the different interfaced systems have access to accurate, structured, documented and well formatted data. S/he will be involved in the process of collecting the data requirements from the different internal/external counterparties and designing/maintaining reporting solutions/frameworks that are aligned with BBH’s strategic vision, eFront’s platform best practices and that meet our client’s expectations.
You would be working in international and multi-cultural team of dedicated individuals supporting Europe and US-based clients.
**Responsibilities**:
- Participate in the system’s design and impact analysis of different projects and change requests- Identify and eliminate miscommunications between business and technical project team members- Review business requirements documents for completeness, clarity, assumptions, issues- Translate business needs for technical development by Systems personnel- Communicate project concepts into effective visual images which clarify design elements and issues for both business and technical audiences- Develop clear, concise methodology documents, which require proficiency in interviewing skills, workflow analysis, dataflow diagramming, screen design, ERD modelling, reporting specifications- Identify gaps in current products or solutions, and participate in creating new solutions to fill these gaps- Select the most efficient and cost-effective solutions for the systems and process design- Ensure BBH methodology is followed for the different projects; provide meaningful feedback in accordance with departmental standards and guidelines- Participate in systems rollout- Understand the data and reporting gaps / challenges the Alternatives teams currently have and propose solutions to improve the process while mainly focusing on reducing the time-to-market for the delivery of new reports and encouraging self-service reporting solutions- Lead data related projects and participate in the different phases from requirements gathering to solution designing, development and testing- Become the team’s key person for all new requests regarding data connectivity queries and initiatives- Facilitate the self-service data consumption from the eFront platform through user friendly and end-to-end solutions compliant with the bank’s reporting strategy. Clear guidance, support and documentation will need be provided for the different counterparties extracting data from eFront- Ensure a high level of data quality and accuracy for the different implemented solutions and available datasets
Key qualifications include:
- Bachelors degree or related work experience- 5+ years of experience working on systems development projects ideally related to Alternatives funds- Strong background on eFront’s FrontInvest platform and products (FIA, DWH, ICX )- Basic business knowledge from Accounting, Transfer Agency or Custody in the Alternatives Funds domain- Knowledge of one or more BI platforms as Alteryx, Cognos, Tableau or alike- Business Intelligence/Reporting working knowledge with a
