Role: HR Manager

Location: Luxembourg

Reports to: Head of HR, EMEA

Job type: Fixed term contract (12 months)

About the role

Reporting directly to the Head of HR, EMEA, you will manage relationships with senior stakeholders in aligned countries to ensure that business needs and requirements are understood and supported.

Key accountabilities:
- Creating partnerships with leaders and establishing a license to operate- Strategy & Planning: Working to support a specific customer group(s) within assigned country. Operating as an integral part of the country team to drive the implementation of the HR Strategy aligning to abrdn strategic objectives- Part of customer group(s) leadership teams where applicable, role modelling abrdn values and culture- Strategic Capability Planning with CoEs: Implementing appropriate plans (e.g. talent and resourcing strategies) to deliver the right people in the right place at the right time with the right skills- Change Delivery: Working with senior leaders to proactively plan, advise and deliver change, enabling improved business performance whilst ensuring this also supports abrdn’s organisational culture and values. Leveraging specialist legal providers where appropriate- Leadership: Forming strong and influential relationships between self, leaders and HR function colleagues in order to deliver value to abrdn. In addition, demonstrate personal credibility and capability across the function to provide a quality service- Engaging and partnering with the breadth of CoEs: Talent and Organisational Effectiveness, Talent Acquisition, Global Reward, DE&I and HR Services- HR Service Delivery: Ensuring effective flow of communication between CoEs and Business. Where appropriate supporting escalations and problem resolution. Supporting operational delivery in allocated countries where appropriate. Encouraging managers to self service where appropriate- Employee Engagement: Collaborating with the CoEs and the business to drive employee engagement initiatives and plans for retaining and winning top talent

Activities required to perform in this role:
- Work with Head of HR and business leaders to develop clear people strategy and plan- Use Data & Analytics and insight to shape and lead change initiatives at a strategic level- In collaboration with business leaders and CoEs, create and implement appropriate organisational design, structures and job roles- Lead on critical projects for the function/ business

Skills and capabilities required:
- Experience of operating in an EMEA context- Strong relationship management skills and able to build rapport and influence change, particularly at a senior level- Awareness of what, and how, the wider business strategy can be supported by the HR Function- BP, project delivery, CoE expertise, operational delivery with experience of operating in a matrixed global environment- Experience coaching and mentoring line managers, project consultants, CoE partners- Demonstrated success in delivering results under tight deadlines- Comfortable working across a diversity of activity, strategic and operational- Global Acumen with sensitivity to diverse cultures and personality types- Track Record in inspiring and embedding change through influencing and communication- Positive and driven mindset- Strong Delivery Focus

Key qualifications:
- Sound English and French language skills. Further foreign language skills are welcome- In depth knowledge/experience of Luxemburgish and French HR business partnering, employment and collective labour law- Work experience in the Lux fund business / regulated entities in the investment and/or banking industry advantageous- Excellent communicator and willing team player
