Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with business and subject matter experts to understand Master Data requirements, processes and business needs.
- Analyse information gathered from SMEs and translate it into clear, structured user stories in Jira.
- Write high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria and functional requirements that development teams can work from.
- Review and analyse existing Jira stories, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, dependencies and areas requiring clarification.
- Facilitate discussions and workshops with SMEs to extract requirements and challenge where additional detail is needed.
- Bring structure to complex or loosely defined business requirements.
- Support the refinement and prioritisation of the Master Data backlog.
- Act as the link between business experts and technical/development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle. Key Skills & Experience
- Strong experience as a Functional Analyst or Business Analyst within complex projects.
- Excellent hands-on experience writing and analysing user stories in Jira.
- Strong understanding of user story structure, acceptance criteria, backlog refinement and requirements analysis.
- Proven ability to work with subject matter experts and translate specialist knowledge into structured functional requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify gaps and ask the right questions.
- Experience working with Master Data, reference data or data-focused projects would be highly advantageous.
- Comfortable working between business and technical teams in an Agile environment.
- Financial services experience is beneficial Most Important The successful candidate needs to be someone who can take complex knowledge from business experts and give it structure — turning discussions and existing information into clear, complete and usable Jira user stories.
