About the Role

In this role as Conducting Officer in charge of Portfolio Management, you will be responsible for the portfolio management function of the AIFM, including the day-to-day oversight of the investment activities of complex Private Equity, Real Estate, Private Debt and Funds of Funds portfolios managed by the AIFM, as well as the monitoring of any delegated portfolio management arrangements.

You will act as a key member of the AIFM senior management and will be involved in the governance, supervision, and strategic development of the AIFM and its portfolio management framework, in line with applicable regulations and CSSF expectations.

You will report to the Board of Managers and work closely with the other Conducting Officers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume the formal responsibility of Conducting Officer for the portfolio management function of the AIFM, including ensuring proper governance, decision-making processes, documentation and oversight;

• Contribute to the onboarding of new investment funds and mandates, including review of investment strategy, risk/return profile, operational feasibility and alignment with the AIFM framework;

• Review offering documents and fund documentation (prospectus/PPM, LPA, investment guidelines, side letters, etc.) and ensure the ongoing compliance of AIFs with company policies, regulatory requirements and investment restrictions;

• Assess investment opportunities initiated by the AIFs, their GPs, advisors and/or delegated portfolio managers;

• Ensure the AIFM is able to understand, assess and challenge complex financial models and investment theses;

• Maintain high-level and operational knowledge of the portfolios and exposures of the AIFs managed by the AIFM (asset allocation, concentration, leverage, liquidity profile, hedging, etc.);

• Assess investment proposals and key transactions to support investment/divestment decisions, including documentation of rationale and escalation when required;

• Implement and maintain a robust monitoring process for portfolios across the following asset classes:

  • Real Estate

  • Private Equity

  • Private Debt

  • Fund of Funds

• Contribute to the obtention of an additional license for the AIFM related to listed assets investment strategy;

• Ensure an appropriate delegation oversight framework is applied when portfolio management is delegated (due diligence, ongoing monitoring, periodic reviews, KPI monitoring, reporting to the Board);

• Lead investment committees and contribute to AIF governance bodies and Board reporting;

• Engage in regular research and monitoring to remain apprised of:

  • macroeconomic environment and capital markets,

  • private markets trends and valuation environment,

  • Luxembourg fund regulation, and AIFM regulatory expectations.

Your Profile

Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics or equivalent;

• Proven experience in portfolio management / investment oversight / private markets, ideally within an AIFM / ManCo environment;

• Strong ability to review, assess and challenge investment proposals, financial models and structuring;

• Strong understanding of Luxembourg alternative fund structures (RAIF, SIF, SCSp, etc.) as well as structuration of private investments;

• Ability to read and understand complex fund documentation (LPA, PPMs, investment management agreements, etc.) as well as complex financial models;

• Excellent communicator (oral and written), capable of producing board-ready documentation and summaries;

• Ability to take ownership, act independently, manage priorities and drive projects to completion;

• High integrity, pragmatic mindset, and ability to challenge constructively;

• Fluent in English; French is a strong plus;

• Awareness of the Luxembourg AIFM regulatory environment and CSSF expectations is required;

• Exposure to Real Estate / Private Equity / Private Debt as well as listed assets (equity or fixed income related).
