Join us as a Risk & Controls Manager
- If you have a background in risk management, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Depositary Services team, located in Luxembourg
- We need a self-driven individual to anticipate and assess any potential risks across Operational Risk, Regulatory Risk, Financial Crime, and Change Management
- We’ll look to you to proactively drive the assessment of risk and implement an effective risk framework to ensure compliance with Group policy, converting this into appropriate strategies and action plans

What you'll do

You’ll be responsible for supporting the management of the business in its identification and assessment of material risks, and in determining our position relative to agreed risk appetite. You’ll lead risk and control assessment activity for the business, including risk identification and mitigation, and you’ll take a leading role regarding the risk management and control environment. This will involve ensuring that a risk weighted assurance monitoring programme is designed, implemented, and maintained as well as the identification, assessment, oversight, and challenge of business processes and controls. A such, you’ll provide assurance reporting on the business controls environment, residual risks, issues, and actions.

As well as owning governance reporting, ensuring measures are fit for purpose, you’ll be responsible for the formation of Risk Appetite Statements covering Group Measures, Supplemental Measures, and Operational limits. Working with senior stakeholders, you’ll be responsible for driving forward the development and overseeing the delivery of any remedial action plans where identified risks are considered out of appetite. You’ll also support and embed a culture of proactive and pre-emptive risk management including continuous improvement, and the attainment of operational risk objectives.

As well as this, you’ll:

- Play a leading role in the creation of a generative risk culture and maintain a CE2 rating for the business
- Lead the implementation and alignment of our Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and undertake thematic assurance reviews and related project activity
- Analyse risk reporting and metrics used to inform decision making
- Coach and support colleagues across the business to improve understanding and embed a proactive risk culture
- Support and regularly engage with key stakeholders including second and third lines of defence and functional risk teams
- Educate teams on the operational risk framework and our conduct risk obligations, supporting the business in operating and embedding them
