Risk Officer

As a Risk Officer with Convera, based in our Luxembourg office, you will be responsible for the risk management program at Convera Europe that is designed to help Authorized management take informed decision as they plan and execute on their business plan.

More generally, the role is responsible for overseeing a risk advisory program that empowers the overall Convera Europe staff in understanding their role and responsibilities dealing with daily risks resulting from their conduct of business and implementing proper risk mitigants.

The Risk Officer is seen as a custodian of an entity-level risk governance framework, including but not limited to the creation and the chairing of a local risk committee, the management and maintenance of a local risk register, the creation and diffusion of dashboards and KRIs to the Authorized Management as well as the Board of Convera Europe, the ownership of risk policies at the Convera Europe level, coordination and performance of regular and ad-hoc risk assessments and the maintenance of a local risk appetite statement.

The role shall further act as a trusted liaison officer on risk matters with the CSSF as required by law, including but not limited to the preparation and submission of required risk related documents and reports, ensuring that any response to the authorities is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.

Finally, the function belongs to the Convera Global Risk Management, so it is responsible for the proper integration of the Convera Europe risk management program within the Enterprise-level risk management framework, ensuring that group standards and group policies are properly implemented at entity level, and that key risks identified are properly escalated and discussed at group level.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Risk management in relation to the legal entity of Convera Europe, including its seven branches across Europe
- The range of risks identified for the Convera business model. It includes, but is not limited to, strategic and business risks (incl. competition), organizational risk, financial risks (incl. credit, settlement and counterparty), concentration risk, operational, IT systems and information security risks, fraud risks (incl. internal misconduct), legal, compliance and regulatory risks (incl. reputation).
- The job scope covers all lines of business and products offered by Convera Europe.
- Proven track record of delivering risk management at senior level in a large multi-regional and/or multi-national financial or payment service business.
- Progressive and extensive experience of risk management in a complex consumer financial services organization.
- Experience might have been gained in a risk management, general compliance, Auditing, Internal Control and/or Consultancy focused role
- Substantive knowledge of applicable risk management regulation within the banking/financial services industry, expertise and knowledge of the latest trends, concepts and best practices Management of requirements related to Payment Services Directive (PSD2) is a serious advantage.
- Experience managing regulatory exams is a strong plus.
- Substantive understanding of payment products, services and operations (or equivalent in other financial services organizations).
- Proven record of accomplishment of complex problem solving and decision-making ability. The role shall be able to produce senior management and C-suite risk management reports and management information as well as analyze business dashboards.
- Strong analytical skills, able to analyze root causes of business risk issues.
- University degree (or equivalent experience) would be an advantage.
