Principal, Business Continuity/recovery

The role will report to the European Bank Head of Resiliency, Outsourcing Framework and Data Quality, and to the Global Head of Strategy, Governance and Regulatory within the Enterprise Resiliency Office (matrix). The role will support the roll-out of the bank’s Enterprise Resiliency strategy, address regulatory resiliency requirements, coordinate with Recovery and Resolution planning efforts, and ensure effective governance of the bank’s operational resiliency efforts including business continuity and disaster recovery, for the European Bank.
The individual in this role should have an understanding of BNY Mellon’s businesses, experience working in a regulated environment and a knowledge of operational resiliency. Responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with Business, Technology, Operations, Legal and Regulatory Affairs management;
- Presenting to regulators, senior management and respective committees;
- Assisting in the preparation of materials for leadership meetings;
- Drafting regulatory responses;
- Organizing and maintaining auditable records;
- Contributing to process improvement and problem solving with keen attention to detail;
- Developing or enhancing program artifacts used to manage, assess, track, and report readiness to respond to business disruptions;
- Providing response and recovery support in resiliency testing exercises, and potential or actual disruption situations impacting assigned functional areas.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years experience preferred, experience working for a regulated financial services firm a plus
- Well-developed core consulting skills
- Aptitude to grasp new concepts and effectively produce results
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Creative mindset
- Very good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be self-directed and be an independent contributor to the team
