Conducting Officer

We are seeking to hire a senior individual who has presence in the Luxembourg market, who can provide the bench strength needed to support and help guide our Luxembourg governance program as well as take on specific responsibility as Conducting Officer responsible for the oversight of distribution, branches and operations.
You will broadly meet the following requirements:

- A senior executive Conducting Officer with a breadth ManCo and AIFM experience as well as Board exposure;
- Proven track record of branch and distribution oversight and executing remediation activities;
- Experience with oversight of UCI operations - including UCITS, AIFs LDIs, Money Market Funds, Real Estate, and Infrastructure products;
- A high level of proven industry expertise and deep understanding of Luxembourg governance and oversight requirements.

In this role you will be a member of our senior management in Luxembourg and part of an expanding Luxembourg team, responsible for managing the critical relationships between the Luxembourg Management Company, European Branch network and UK-based business services.
You will attend, present and report to the relevant Luxembourg based boards as well as internal management committees for your supporting areas.
This role recognises the growing remit of our Luxembourg Management Company regarding the day-to-day operations delivering on our obligations to our European clients, regulators and stakeholders. This role reports into the Head of Luxembourg.

**How you'll spend your time..**
- Coordinating the enhancement and smooth running of the Luxembourg ManCo’s operations and its branches; ensuring alignment of business objectives and adherence to the requirements of the Luxembourg boards, our investors, Columbia Threadneedle stakeholders, Ameriprise and regulators.
- Responsible for the Distribution Oversight for the Management Company and its’ branches’ Distribution activities, including:

- Monitoring compliance and policy adherence
- Reporting key performance metrics such as flow and activity information
- Reporting risk events to the board
- Lead initial and on-going due diligence processes on distributors & other players in the distribution chain
- Sharing best practices and proposing actions for continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with Branches and CO’s; promote good and effective communication and work with the branch managers to ensure alignment of business objectives and adherence to the requirements of the Luxembourg board and regulators
- Responsible for the Operational Oversight activities of the Manco, including:

- Fund Administration
- Shareholder record keeping & documentation
- Late trading/market timing
- Custody/Depositary services
- Bring regulatory and commercial focus and provide practical support
- An active contributor to the broader management team in Luxembourg, ensuring the ManCo runs smoothly.
- Look for opportunities to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement.
- Vendor management of any outsourced relationships used in conducting your duties.

**To be successful in this role you will have..**
- Proven Conducting Officer with experience in First Line Defence roles within a complex matrix structure;
- Deep understanding of the requirements of a Luxembourg Super ManCo and fund boards and how the Boards/Management Committees work and report to support this;
- Experienced in engaging with the broader Asset Management industry - particularly in distribution and operations oversight ;
- Prior experience in managing a ManCo’s delegates and service providers related to Distribution & Operations;
- An ability to understand and review key performance indicators of fund delegates and ensure meaningful monitoring and challenge of activities;
- Extensive experience in supervising all aspects of head office administration and operations, including NAV calculation, investor protection in the event of NAV calculation error and corrective measures in the event of breach of investment rules, swing pricing, fund valuation, transfer agency (including investor AML-KYC), investor compensation, etc.;
- Ability to be client facing and engage in marketing and service activities;
- Board ready to join EU boards if required;
- Exposure to the Luxembourg and/or other European regulators, including direct engagement;
- Strong risk management skills;
- Proven track record to deliver outcomes and resolve issues;
- Results orientated, strong communication skills, people leadership capabilities and stakeholder/relationship management
