Business Analyst

Your Role

You’ll be part of the Strategy & Joint Ventures and Partnerships team supporting different procurement categories through the development of strategic initiatives to facilitate decision making for the Senior Management team.

Our company is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analysing large data sets, designing, and working with financial models and other data visuals oriented to different businesses requirements in ArcelorMittal Procurement Organisation.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Analyse business opportunities and synergies in collaboration with stakeholders to secure and improve the supply chain of raw materials and other industrial products.
- Valuate projects in accordance with the strategic needs previously identified keeping record of the progress to the steering committee and/or sponsors related.
- Provide quality and quantitative information to ascertain the different market trends and underlying factors for Raw Materials and Industrial Products, both in the short and long-term. This includes quarterly forecasting models for commodity prices.
- Gather reliable macroeconomic forecast and steel density trends data
- Communicate progress constantly and inform timely of any potential difficulty obstructing the flow of the market assessment.
- Support the different strategic cycles (multi-year plan) for EPO raw materials (iron ore, solid fuels, ferro alloys and base metals), industrial products (electrodes, refractories, others) and services (industrial services, logistics) in liaison with Corporate Strategy including its respective risk assessment.
- Process and mapping data analysis to develop detailed business requirements for new systems or process improvements.
- Establish effective networks in the global commodity through business/public institutions, seminars/conferences, and interviews with third parties to ensure the best-in-class forecasting market intelligence.
- Coordinate corporate processes related to raw materials, including reporting latest market moves, investors relations and press releases.
- Coordinate cross knowledge information through the organization to enhance market intelligence capability of the commodity teams and regional purchasing platforms
- Structure and harmonize methodologies and analytical problem-solving approaches when developing strategic studies, market/supplier analysis to sustain the internal knowledge of the strategy department
- Represent the Strategy department in Internal and External Auditing.
- Define internal KPIs and identify improvement actions to reach best practices within the organization

What we’re looking for
- Master’s degree in engineering, Finance or Business Administration
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Extensive knowledge of how to collect, organize, and evaluate market research
- Attention to detail in written and visual reports
- Knowledge of relevant database technologies, programming languages, data visualization, and reporting systems
- Demonstrated ability to translate insights into strategies
- Experience with accurately collecting, organizing, and analyzing large data sets
