Key responsibilities include:
- Primary purpose of the role is to identify any operational risks arising from new business, services and products to be offered by BBH, ensure they are understood, documented and risk accepted by senior management as appropriate.
- Actively participate in various forums designed to assess new products, services, operational models to ensure all identified risks have been appropriately defined and proper mitigating controls have been identified and implemented, documented in the Risk and Control Self-Assessment and ensuring all residual risks are acknowledged and accepted by the business prior to launch and ensuring coordination with the Risk Managements Leads.
- Maintain a current inventory of all new business and any incremental operational risks arising from it.
- Provide risk reporting on new business risks on an inherent and residual basis.
- Act as advisor on the various governance protocols which may be required.
- Provide support to the new business forums run by Risk by taking minutes, creating presentations, documenting operational risk assessments and maintaining an overview of the new business pipeline.
- Escalate any unique, non-standard client requirements which may influence the decision-making process.
- Monitor any material follow-ups are closed out prior to launch of new business.
- Provide support to Risk Management Leads and Product Division management with respect to control enhancements and process improvements and participate in integration and implementation of proposed solutions.
- Ensure new business and day to day operations are in line with the firm’s stated risk appetite and escalate any concerns.
- Support the Risk Management leads in driving a culture of risk awareness, transparency and escalation across the LOB.
- Assist in the capture and publication of insights from developments in the market and on industry best practice to initiatives impacting or may potentially impact the Investor Services Line of Business.
- Support training initiatives to develop risk awareness, risk culture and understanding of fundamental control principles across the business.
Qualifications:
- College graduate
- A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience in Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Fund Administration, Custody operations or risk and control setting (Audit, Risk, Compliance, Legal).
- An enquiring mind, analytical skills and an eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong experience with Excel and PowerPoint
