Head of Pricing

This role is at the core of Zurich's newly established cross-border individual life protection business – a dynamic area dedicated to driving growth and innovation. As part of a small, agile team you will collaborate across multiple markets to develop tailored life protection solutions for our customers. Together, we are shaping the future to secure brighter outcomes for those we serve, wherever they are in the world.

Main Responsibilities 

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for all product and pricing aspects associated with the European cross-border life protection business
• Design, implement, and ensure timely delivery of innovative, digitally enabled protection propositions that meet the evolving needs of customers and distribution partners
• Lead the continuous monitoring, review, and optimisation of the product portfolio post-launch, ensuring ongoing competitiveness and suitability
• Build and manage a team of proposition experts and pricing actuaries, developing capabilities to deliver on business objectives
• Ensure all products and pricing structures are fully compliant with applicable regulations in both home and host countries, as well as Zurich Group policies and procedures
• Engage proactively stakeholders, including the board, regulators, and key internal and external partners, to support strategic priorities and maintain strong governance
• Partner closely with distribution, IT/operations, Finance, Underwriting, Claims, and Group teams to align product development and pricing initiatives with broader business goals
  
  

Skills and Experience

• Qualified actuary with greater than 15 years' experience in life insurance, including extensive exposure to retail protection products, product development, and pricing functions
• Proven track record in leading proposition and pricing teams and managing product development initiatives within a regulated insurance environment
• Deep understanding of life insurance administration systems, process design, and customer service frameworks
• Experience working in an international environment, ideally across multiple European jurisdictions, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes
• Experience with digital and embedded insurance solutions is an advantage
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Fluent in English is mandatory; additional European languages are an asset
• Accuracy, attention to detail, and effective measurement abilities
• Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work accurately to deadline
