Application
Salonkee is one of Europe's fastest-growing beauty-tech companies, helping thousands of salons simplify their daily operations and offer an outstanding experience to their clients.
Our all-in-one software simplifies appointment scheduling, payments, and client management, allowing salons to focus on what truly matters: delivering an exceptional customer experience.
We're proud to shape the future of the beauty industry with innovation, collaboration, and a people-first mindset.
The opportunity
As we continue our ambitious European expansion, we are seeking to build a robust, forward-looking legal and compliance framework.
This is a unique opportunity to join Salonkee as our first in-house Legal Counsel and play a pivotal role in shaping our legal strategy. You will be instrumental in turning compliance into a competitive advantage, ensuring our operations are scalable, and reinforcing the trust of our clients and partners.
This is a high-impact, strategic role where you will report directly to the leadership team and work closely with external counsel and our Data Protection Officer (DPO).
What you will be doing
- Compliance Leadership: Proactively ensure Salonkee's continuous compliance with existing and future key regulations including GDPR, the Digital Services Act (DSA), the new Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nLPD), and the EU Data Act.
- Strategic Advisor: Act as a strategic partner to the business, providing pragmatic and commercially-focused legal advice on a wide range of matters, including product development, data privacy, labour law and employment contracts, as well as international expansion.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including client contracts, partnership agreements, and supplier contracts.
- Cross-Border Legal Expertise: Manage legal and regulatory matters across our diverse European markets, ensuring a cohesive and compliant approach in Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.
- External Counsel Collaboration: Effectively manage and collaborate with external legal counsel, our DPO, and other advisors to ensure high-quality and cost-effective legal support.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure best-in-class legal and regulatory compliance.
What you need to have
- A qualified lawyer with 3-5 years of experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house experience in a fast-growing technology company.
- Proven, hands-on experience in implementing compliance frameworks for GDPR and other relevant data protection and digital regulations.
- Strong experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts in a SaaS or technology environment.
- Experience in managing legal matters across multiple European jurisdictions is a significant advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive, pragmatic, and business-oriented mindset with a "can-do" attitude.
- Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in German and/or French is a very strong asset.
What we offer
- A competitive remuneration package.
- A dynamic, international, and supportive work environment with a strong team culture.
- Flat hierarchies that promote open communication and encourage putting your ideas forward
- The opportunity to be part of a success story and make a tangible impact on the future of the beauty and wellness industry.
- Regular company events to foster team bonding and create opportunities for networking and collaboration
