We are currently recruiting for one of our clients a:

Senior Business Development Manager

OUR CLIENT

Our client is one of the major payer in the banking sector. It currently operates in retail, private and corporate banking, as well as on major capital markets.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Within the Corporate Banking department, you will be responsible for acquiring new clients and developing relationships with existing clients by proposing innovative products and services.

Grow the Mid-Corporate client portfolio, with a focus on complex or strategic clients, by:

  • Building and maintaining an external network of clients and strategic partners to identify new business opportunities.
  • Promoting corporate banking products and presenting them to potential clients.
  • Providing regular technical training to (Senior) Relationship Managers to help them identify growth and cross-selling opportunities.

Work closely with (Senior) Relationship Managers and other Business Developers to spot opportunities, lead proposal preparation, and design clear and innovative client solutions (e.g., Cash Management, Lending, Corporate Finance, DCM). Once proposals are accepted, day-to-day client management is transferred back to the Relationship Manager. This role focuses on complex, sensitive, or strategic projects.

Promote the Corporate Banking Value Proposition and position yourself as a key contributor to its success, while ensuring strong first-line-of-defense standards.

Provide market intelligence on trends, competitors, products, and pricing to all Corporate Banking teams.

Act as an internal and external ambassador:

  • Share your expertise within Corporate Banking and with other teams across the bank.
  • Represent the bank at external events such as conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
  • Build and nurture a network of strategic partners.

Drive commercial results by acquiring new corporate clients and meeting targets for revenues, costs, deposits, and loan production, while maintaining compliance with all procedures (KYC, AML, etc.) and ensuring proper CRM documentation.

Collaborate actively with (Senior) Relationship Managers on client portfolios. Take initiative when opportunities arise and deliver proposals that highlight the full range of corporate banking solutions. Present these solutions to clients, coordinate implementation, and hand over daily follow-up to the Relationship Manager.

Contribute to product and service development by bringing insights from client interactions and market trends.

Requirements

The profile we are looking for:

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience;
  • Expertise in (complex) financing and cash management.
  • General knowledge of Corporate Finance and DCM, in order to ensure cross sell with the expert teams.
  • Knowledge of drafting contractual documents for the bank, particularly in the area of syndicated loans (ie. LMA standard).
  • Very good knowledge of the legal, tax and regulatory framework applying to the applicable market (BE), and of the domestic market in general.
  • Excellent knowledge of the economic, regulatory and tax environment in Belgium.
  • Solid network of external contacts (clients, banks, professional experts).
  • Fluent in French, Dutch and English.
