About the SnT
The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg is a leading international research and innovation centre in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT systems and services.
We play an instrumental role in Europe by fueling innovation through research partnerships with industry, boosting R&D investments leading to economic growth, and attracting highly qualified talent. We look for researchers from diverse academic backgrounds to contribute to our projects in areas such as: Network Security, Information Assurance, Model-driven Security, Cloud Computing, Cryptography, Satellite Systems, Vehicular Networks, and ICT Services & Applications.
Your role
SnT carries out interdisciplinary research in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) systems and services, often in collaboration with governmental, industrial and international partners. SnT is active in several national projects funded by the National Research Fund (FNR) and local industries, and international research projects funded by the EU FP7 program, H2020 program and the European Space Agency (ESA). For further information, you may check:
The SigCom research group carries out research activities in the areas of signal processing for wireless communication systems including satellite communications and radar systems and is currently expanding its research activities in exploring several emerging use cases of next generation wireless communications systems. For details, you may refer to the following:
The successful candidate is expected to perform the following tasks:
- Design, analyse and simulate joint communication and sensing (JCAS) waveforms and air interfaces for satellite Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), with emphasis on OFDM-based 5G/6G signals and full-duplex operation
- Contribute to the selection and analysis of technology baselines and system architectures for spaceborne JCAS payloads, including trade-offs under realistic platform constraints
- Implement and integrate J-CROSS building blocks on the 6GSPACE Lab SDR platforms (e.g. RFSoC-based boards, USRPs) using open-source 5G/6G stacks such as OAI
- Participate in the design, implementation and operation of the J-CROSS demonstrators, including hardware-in-the-loop experimentation, performance measurements and validation against ESA specifications
- Contribute to the dissemination of research results in leading international journals and conferences, as well as to ESA technical reports and project deliverables
- Collaborate closely with academic and industrial partners, support technical meetings and reviews, and assist in the organization of project-related demos and workshops
