The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of Aztec's transformation programme by providing strategic leadership and direction to the Process Optimisation, Automation and Digitisation workstreams and the development of the Process Optimisation and Digitalisation Capability Centre (POD), which through its different teams, drives creation and adoption of best practice, process optimisation, digitisation and digital adoption across the Aztec Group business
**Key responsibilities**:
- Accountable for the development and delivery of a Process Optimisation, Automation and Digitisation strategy in order to drive creation and adoption of best practice, process optimization, digitization and digital adoption across the Aztec business
- Effectively manage multiple workstreams in the POD
- Deliver each quarterly increment in line with agreed plan, budget and timeline
- Finding ways to enhance the Aztec client experience and the delivery of commercial client solutions
- Deliver agreed benefits in line with the agreed projects (described in the Project Initiation Documents)
- Accountable for ensuring the effective use of resource in the POD
- Identifying and prioritising the scope of activities to be delivered by the POD each increment
- Ensure that the required POD resources are identified and effectively deployed, and that only the highest priority activities and those which will deliver the greatest operational and commercial benefits are delivered first
- Accountable for establishing and implementing a way of working for the POD which allows the teams to move quickly and with a focus on identifying and delivering quick wins to ensure that the wider business is accelerated 'up the organisation learning curve'
- Accountable for the development of a Capability Centre ethos built on developing and rolling out methodologies and toolkits across the wider business which can support the development of a culture of continuous improvement across all teams and to position Aztec as a thought leader in this space
- In collaboration with key stakeholders and Operation Directors, responsible for agreeing the matrix reporting and secondment arrangements - including working with external third parties - for those staff who sit outside of the POD but will be required on a project-by-project basis to ensure that the right resource in the right numbers is available at the right time
- In collaboration with the Task Manager Data Programme, ensure that any new processes are fully optimised in order to ensure that any replacement system delivers a consistent approach and manages data and information in the most appropriate manner
- In collaboration with the Strategy and Innovation team identify opportunities for continuous improvement and automation
- In collaboration with the relevant business teams, lead the development and implementation of a strategy for achieving best solutions to optimise and automate tasks and processes in highlighted areas across the business and eliminate processes that do not enhance the client experience
- Work to deliver the key Target Operating Model (TOM) objectives through the work of the POD, in particular the reduction in the number of manual processes, increasing revenue, employee engagement, adoption and control, to help ensure the successful implementation of the TOM and associated benefits
- Identify and manage relationships with key stakeholders in order to identify opportunities and to ensure that the business is kept abreast of any developments
- Accountable for the effective management of the POD budget, ensuring that objectives are delivered within budget and agreed resource plan as part of the TOM governance
- Accountable for ensuring adequate resourcing is in place in order to effectively support every aspect of the POD operations
- Accountable for developing and implementing a robust risk management framework within the POD in order to ensure the effective mitigation of risks and issues across all work dependencies
- Acting as a point of senior escalation for significant issues related to the POD and stakeholders across the Aztec business, to ensure speedy and satisfactory resolution of issues
- Develop and implement an effective POD project and programme reporting framework to enable strong monitoring of team performance and the early identification of potential issues, allowing effective mitigation to be developed to resolve problems
- Accountable for identifying and managing the direct impact of change on the POD and other stakeholders, ensuring risks are controlled and issues resolved
- In collaboration with the Technology team, ensure that the delivered technology changes remain aligned across the business
- Ensure that all staff seconded into the POD are supported in their personal and professional development, and have clear plans for returning to the business at the end of their secondment
