Overview
Bank of New York Mellon Luxembourg provides depositary services for collective investment schemes for Luxembourg registered funds.
**Job Description**:
The Depository Bank Senior Analyst will be in charge of reviewing all the investment restriction rules for UCITS and Alternatives Investment funds. This will encompass the review, the detection, the analysis and the reporting of potential issues.
The Depositary Bank Senior Analyst will work within the Depositary Bank responsible for monitoring fund compliance operations and maintaining service delivery levels for Luxembourg based clients. He/she will liaise with Clients and BNYM operational departments in order to escalate any outstanding issues impacting Luxembourg funds.
Key Responsibilities
Daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly monitoring of fund portfolios to ensure that funds are in compliance with regulatory documentation guidelines, in accordance with Law, Circulars and Guidelines,
Ensure that all fund activities are compliant with regulations,
Develop and maintain a knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, official guidelines and Circulars in respect to depository responsibilities,
Develop and maintain a knowledge of all financial instruments,
Be able to cover both investment restrictions of UCITS and AIF funds,
Liaise with clients on any investment compliance issue,
Ensure escalation of issues to management as well as BNYM operational centres respectively,
Ensure enquiry and outstanding issues are resolved in a timely manner,
Liaise with our utility team should we have issues with our compliance system,
Able to train new joiners,
Able to conduct a project,
Able to conduct a presentation,
Act as owner of his/her Client’s allocation,
Propose ideas to improve processes,
Very good command of the Commitment approach and the Leverage.
Education and Skills
University degree. Preferably Business administration, Law, or Management,
Familiarized with the Private Equity and Real Estate Funds,
Any additional specific qualifications in financial markets will be a plus,
Very good knowledge of laws and regulations (UCITS, MMFs, AIF, CSSF Circulars & FAQ, ALFI guidelines, ESMA) and financial instruments (derivatives),
Attention to details, motivation and willing to learn and make a career in financial services,
Very Client oriented,
English (mandatory), French, any additional (European) languages would be considered as an advantage,
Strong analytical, communication and organization skills,
Ability to work both, independently and within a team,
Control and risk minded,
Ability to work under pressure,
PC literate. Good command of Excel and ability to deal with different custody and fund administration systems.
