The Luxembourg office has grown rapidly in the past few years, both in terms of the number of and range of funds it now supports, the strategic importance of Luxembourg post Brexit and the requirements to oversee central administration for a growing number of funds. Increased levels and complexity of regulation in relation to the oversight of both internal and external providers create the requirement to maintain and operate a robust Oversight framework for abrdn.

About the role

To be responsible for the management of the local operations of the Management Company, ensuring that the local administration functions operates effectively and to required standards at all times. In addition to assist the Chief Operating Officer, and relevant Conducting Officer in the oversight of Group and third party operations for the management company in its responsibility for central administration of the funds under management and Information Technology services. To contribute to monthly and quarterly report production and to contribute to cross functional projects when required.

Key accountabilities

Oversight of outsourced functions in relation to central administration, operational activities, and IT, including internal and external partners Due Diligence on new and existing service providers in line with the requirements defined by the CSSF and utilising the Group approach to the Third Party Risk Management Group Projects - to represent abrdn where and when required in ad-hoc/cross-functional initiatives/projects Reporting - drafting reports for Luxembourg Governance functions (Executive Committee & Management Company Board) and relevant fund boards.

Oversight of outsourced central administration and Operational functions- To provide support in designing and implementing effective engagement and oversight of outsourced external and internal operational suppliers- Ensure delivery of Due Diligence (initial and periodic) and ongoing monitoring of relevant service providers to meet all regulatory requirements-
- Ensure that there is substance behind the services delivered by operational suppliers through measurement and review of reporting and critical metrics ensure that delivery is to the required contractual standards- Review industry best practice and agreement/recommendation of revised services and standards as appropriate- Provide support and cover for the Chief Operating Officer for operations where appropriate- Oversight of the in-house Transfer Agency of abrdn Luxembourg and relevant service providers- Co-ordinate Due Diligence responses and on-site inspections from Depository banks in line with regulatory requirements- To support Chief Operating Officer in monitoring the performance of internal/external service providers. To provide reporting as part of Executive Committee/Management Company of Fund Board reporting cycles.

Project Management - ad-hoc/cross-functional initiatives/projects- Represent abrdn Luxembourg in relevant cross functional projects either as a participant or in a support function
