**Your role**
As an AP/AR Accountant, you play a crucial role in managing our accounts payable and receivable in our Luxembourg office. Reporting to the Head of Accounting, you will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of our financial transactions. Your excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with various teams across the organization are key to your success in this role.
**Your key tasks**:
- Accounts Payable (AP): Oversee all accounts payable duties, including processing invoices, verifying accuracy, obtaining approvals, and executing timely payments. Maintain the AP ledger, reconcile vendor statements, and assist in month-end close procedures;
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Manage all accounts receivable duties, including invoicing, monitoring customer payments, managing collections activities, and maintaining accurate records of all transactions. Assist in the reconciliation of the AR ledger and in month-end close processes;
- Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly reports for the Head of Accounting, detailing AP and AR status and activities. Highlight any outstanding items and propose appropriate actions;
- Internal Controls: Adhere to internal controls and accounting policies. Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department;
- Audit Assistance: Support the Head of Accounting and the rest of the accounting team during internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and answering queries related to AP and AR;
- Vendor/Customer Relations: Maintain positive relations with vendors and customers, promptly addressing any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
**You have these claims to fame**:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in AP and AR roles;
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, especially relating to accounts payable and receivable;
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- Experience with accounting software and systems;
- Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Working towards a professional accounting certification (e.g., CMA, CGA, ACCA);
- Experience working in the dynamics of an international scale-up organization;
- Knowledge of Luxembourg's accounting standards and practices is a plus;
- Proficiency in automation and process improvement in finance and accounting
