The **EIB**, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its EIB Global Directorate (GLO), Equity & Microfinance Division (EQ&MF), Implementation Unit (IMPLEM) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a **(Associate) Front Office Support Officer - Investment Funds*. **This is a full time position at grade 4/5.

**The term of this contract will be 1 year; **_as this is a temporary replacement assignment, no extension or conversion of the contract is foreseen._**

**Purpose**:
To coordinate and execute post-signature tasks for the assigned portfolio of equity operations originated by the Equity and Microfinance Division in order to enable the fulfilment of the accountabilities as described below in a timely and accurate manner. The role requires taking the lead on middle office tasks for the allocated portfolio and specific mandates.

**Operating Network**:
The post works independently in close cooperation with Equity and Microfinance division front office units and will report to the Head of Head of EQMF Implementation Unit. The jobholder will cooperate regularly with different EIB services, such as FI, FC, RM, PMM and OCCO.

Externally, s/he will interact with financial intermediaries, service providers, and fund managers.

This specific post requires taking the lead on middle office tasks for the allocated portfolio and specific mandates.

**Accountabilities**:

- Manage middle office responsibilities for the allocated portfolio of investment funds (the Bank’s internal monitoring requirements), and for certain mandates which the Bank has with the Commission and other external parties;
- Coordinate production of annual operational report on equity under Own Resources and produce the portfolio analysis section (both data and narrative part);
- Coordinate portfolio performance review exercises, ensuring timely inputs of all stakeholders;
- Conduct internal performance reviews of equity-type products: quarterly and annual valuations (reported to FC), annual Project Progress Report (with focus on performance analysis) - for RM validation;
- Ensure compliance of valuations (as reported to FC) with EIB’s internal valuation guidelines;
- Review the quality, completeness and consistency of inputs in the reporting system based on external reports: underlying projects, investors, fund’s Net Assets Value (NAV), EIB’s NAV and other elements in order to ensure high reliability of data, subsequently used in external and internal reports;
- Produce periodical portfolio reports and compile financial and other information, depending on the needs;
- On ad hoc basis, process event resolutions for post signature events of investment funds;
- Coordinate the handover process of operations to PMM;
- Provide input on contractual clauses relating to reporting;
- Proactively propose developments and improvements of Fund Reporting System (FRS);
- Contribute to the set-up and improvements of processes, procedures and Internal Control Framework, including development of operational guidelines for new products;
- Contribute with expert knowledge to inter services working groups concerning equity monitoring;
- Represent the unit during meetings of front office divisions;
- Liaise with internal and external auditors with regard to equity operations;

**Qualifications**:

- University degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or Accounting.
- At least 3 years' professional experience in a middle/back office or audit function related to equity investments.
- Good knowledge of equity fund structures/products and related legal aspects.
- Good understanding of international accounting standards and valuation methodologies.
- Knowledge of EIB processes and procedures related to the administration, control and monitoring of equity operations would be an advantage.
- Fluency in English and/or in French and a solid understanding of the other language.
