The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a leading Research and Technology Organization (RTO) dedicated to advancing the frontiers of science and technology in the domains of materials, environmental sciences, and information technology. You will join the Structural Composite Unit and the Design and Manufacturing of Advanced Composite (DMAC). The DMAC research group combines expertise in computational performance evaluation, design and performance optimization, and innovative manufacturing process development. In this frame you will also contribute to the Sustainable Composite Materials & Manufacturing (SCMM) Innovation Centre. The SCMM is an initiative aiming at turning materials innovations into demonstrators addressing challenges in transport sectors towards zero‐emission mobility solutions. The program is endorsed by leading companies in the automotive, rail, aeronautics, and space sectors.

**How will you contribute?**:
This position provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of transformative advancements in sustainable composite manufacturing technology.

Your activities will include:

- Leading the Design of Experiment and advanced characterization data analysis enabling the demonstration of the use of sustainable Vitrimers resin instead of the current phenolics/epoxy resin.
- Development and validation of the prepreg manufacturing made of vitrimer resin
- Coordination, preparation, analysis and reporting of the pre-qualification mechanical test plan at the coupons level.
- Responsible for the understanding of the process induced changes, both at morphological and material levels and associated multi-scale/multi-field methods developments, including mechanical testing, destructive and non-destructive inspection, thermo-physical analysis, assessment of Vitrimers functionalities at the composite level
- Define process window for both preprep & core manufacturing as well as the conditions of sandwich composite assembly
- Contribution to the process modelling and performance prediction by providing reliable experimental data set in interaction with modelling/simulation experts.
- Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Specialization in composite processing, polymer or composite material advanced characterisation
- Experience with Liquid composite moulding, autoclave consolidation, particularly for vitrimer is a plus.
- Experience on work package management, in space/aeronautics environment is a plus.
- Excellent organisation skills and multi-tasking capacity
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including the industrial partners.
- Detail-oriented approach for experimental data management.
- Excellent job autonomy in the management of technical, time management and organizational issues.
- Outstanding internal and external reporting qualities
- Fluent in English, both written and oral.
