Eurostat, headquartered in Luxembourg, is the EU's statistical office responsible for providing high-quality statistics that enable comparisons across Europe. It collaborates within the European Statistical System (ESS), comprising national statistical institutes (NSIs) and other authorities across Member States, as well as EEA and EFTA countries.
Eurostat's "IT Solutions for Statistical Production" unit manages critical systems like EDAMIS (Electronic Data Files Administration and Management Information System), which serves as the central hub for data exchange within ESS since 2008. This ensures efficient, secure, and monitored transmission of statistical datasets.
The Micro-data Exchange (MDE) system enhances intra-EU trade statistics by minimizing data duplication, thereby reducing administrative burdens while maintaining data quality and reliability.
Below are the details of your role and requirements.
**Your role**
**Task 1: Technical Coordination**
Lead development activities under Eurostat Project Manager oversight. Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing documentation and organizing Scrum meetings.
- Providing estimates and supporting project planning.
- Monitoring progress and conducting unit tests.
- Contributing to PM2 documentation.
**Task 2: Support MDE Application**
- Resolving issues and improving software performance.
- Coordinating with stakeholders and managing databases.
- Maintaining a knowledge base and providing user support.
**Task 3: Business and Functional Analysis**
Perform business and functional analysis:
- Defining requirements and validating technical artifacts.
- Documenting analysis and coordinating with testing.
**Task 4: Incident Management**
Manage user support requests:
- Registering and prioritizing issues.
- Assigning tasks and tracking resolutions.
Deliverables include updated documentation, project plans, test reports, and issue management in CITNet JIRA.
