The
European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking to recruit for its
Strategic Planning & Analysis (SP&A) Division at its headquarters in Luxembourg, several (Senior/Principal) Business Planning Officer(s).

These are full-time positions at grade (4/5) or (5/6), depending on experience, for which the EIF offers a permanent contract.

Purpose:


The Strategic Planning and Analysis - Business Planning team is, amongst others, in charge of performing business and policy analysis of EIF new products and activities, producing activity projections and scenarios, monitoring and steering the development of the business and delivering to the senior management data and insights to support and steer the decision making process.

In this context, the team has the following main responsibilities:

  • Refine and develop a dynamic instrumentspecific (debt and equity products) deal allocation and an effective activity and portfolio monitoring framework;
  • Monitor and report on the products portfolio's business and policy performance to assess and steer the execution of the corporate business strategy and respective operational plan;
  • Support the management and development of the Business Planning team's advanced modelling and analytical platforms;
  • Business and policy assessment of new products and mandate/programs in line with EIF's overall strategy and development plan. Evaluate the alignment of policy objectives and portfolio policy compositions;
  • Participate and provide contributions from a strategic, business planning and monitoring perspectives to corporate initiatives related to digital transformation, data valorisation, new business models and operational efficiency.

Operating Network:


You will report to the Head of the Business Planning Unit, who in turn reports to the Head of the Strategic Planning and Analysis (SP&A) Division with a direct report to EIF's Chief Executive.


Responsibilities:

At a level commensurate with your experience and seniority, you will:

  • Execute a dynamic monitoring of product and mandate portfolio in terms of activity development and policy achievements: perform analytics and reports to support EIF's senior management in its decision-making process;
  • Lead on behalf of the team internal working group initiatives/ projects created by the team;
  • Represent with high degree of autonomy the views of business planning matters in EIB/EIF working groups;
  • Execute horizontal and coordination tasks on matters related to corporate business planning and policy strategy, procedures and processes within SPA's domain.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements:

  • At least three (3) years (Officer) or five (5) years (Senior Officer) of
    postgraduation (after having obtained your initial university diploma) relevant professional experience
    at the same level of responsibility in Strategy/Advisory/Consultancy services firms, and/or in the financial services industry, preferably exposed to portfolio management and monitoring, resource planning and optimization, development of strategy, business and policy assessment methodologies;
  • Very good skills in quantitative/qualitative modelling and business assessment methodologies;
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both oral and written, with strong drafting skills.

Any or combination of the following qualifications
would be considered
a strong
asset**:

  • Good understanding and knowledge of EU Regulations regarding financial instruments;
  • Solid understanding of EIF's mission and activities as well as its operating framework;
  • Clear track record in business planning and policy assessment both in financial institutions or private equity firms;
  • Knowledge of Alteryx, Tableau and SAP BO platforms or willingness to build skills
  • Additional professional or academic qualifications (i.e. CFA, ACCA, FRM, Ph.
D.);

  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, R and/or other objectoriented programming language and/or Business Intelligence tool;
  • Knowledge of other EU languages.
