AISM is looking for a hands-on and pragmatic Risk Officer / Risk Manager to support the day-to-day operation of the Company's Risk Management function. Working closely with the Conducting Officers, Portfolio Managers, Compliance and Operations, the successful candidate will monitor investment risks across UCITS funds and discretionary investment mandates and provide clear and timely risk information to the Company's management bodies.
Why This Role
This is not a purely reporting role. The Risk Officer / Risk Manager is expected to understand the portfolios and underlying risks, take ownership of the day-to-day Risk Management processes and provide independent and pragmatic challenge to the investment team when appropriate.
The role offers broad exposure across UCITS funds, discretionary portfolio management, investment risk, regulatory matters and the development of AISM's operating model, with direct interaction with the Company's Conducting Officers, Portfolio Managers and Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor investment risks and risk limits across UCITS funds and discretionary investment mandates.
• Perform regular monitoring of market, liquidity, counterparty and other relevant investment risks.
• Monitor portfolio exposures, identify breaches or unusual risk situations and ensure timely escalation in accordance with internal procedures.
• Prepare periodic risk reports and risk information for the Conducting Officers, Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
• Perform and document stress tests, liquidity analyses and other recurring risk assessments.
• Maintain and update risk-management procedures, limits, controls and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with Portfolio Managers on risk exposures, limits and breaches, and challenge investment decisions or risk positions where appropriate.
• Monitor, or independently oversee the monitoring of investment restrictions and risk parameters applicable to funds and discretionary mandates.
• Support the risk assessment of new funds, investment mandates, financial instruments and investment strategies.
• Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of the NAV and valuation control framework, including the definition and performance of independent risk-based controls, review of valuation exceptions and post-NAV checks, ensuring that material issues are appropriately analysed, documented and escalated.
• Support regulatory risk reporting, CSSF requests and notifications relating to the Risk Management function.
• Support risk-related audits, due diligence requests and regulatory reviews.
• Perform controls over the quality, consistency and timely processing of data used for risk monitoring and reporting.
• Oversee and review risk monitoring and reporting performed by external service providers, assess the accuracy and consistency of the information received, and investigate and escalate discrepancies or control issues where appropriate.
• Monitor relevant CSSF and ESMA regulatory developments and contribute to the implementation of required changes.
• Actively contribute to the progressive internalisation and development of risk monitoring, controls and reporting capabilities, designing and enhancing internal tools and processes with a strong focus on automation, efficiency, data quality and scalability. Candidate Profile
