Software License Management Specialist

About the Role
The professional selected will be required to provide transversal day-to-day operational support for software license and contract management activities. The position requires a strong combination of Software Asset Management (SAM), software licensing, contract management, data analysis, and reporting skills.

Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day operational support for software license and contract management activities. Maintain and update software license entitlement records, ensuring data is accurate, complete, and up to date. Identify and remediate inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and gaps in software license data. Work with internal stakeholders to collect, validate, and maintain the information required for effective license management. Monitor software deployment and usage to identify unused, underutilized, or potentially over-licensed software. Periodically audit software licenses and compare contractual entitlements with actual software usage. Support the preparation of Effective License Position (ELP) assessments and software license compliance reports. Monitor compliance with software licensing agreements and identify potential compliance risks. Provide recommendations for license reallocation, remediation, and cost optimization. Support internal and external software license audits. Assist the Software License Manager with software licensing and contract management activities as required. Review and interpret software licensing agreements, contractual terms, conditions, and entitlements. Prepare management reports, dashboards, and data visualizations related to software assets and licensing. Use advanced Excel and SAM tools to analyse software inventory, entitlement, usage, and compliance data. Contribute to the continuous improvement of software license management processes, data quality, and reporting. Experience University degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Finance, Procurement, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience acquired after completion of the required education. Demonstrable experience in Software Asset Management, Software License Management, Software Procurement, or a closely related field. Good English language skills, both written and spoken. Strong understanding of software licensing concepts, entitlement management, license compliance, and software asset management. Experience managing software licenses and contracts from major technology vendors Experience working with software licensing models across on-premise, cloud, and SaaS environments. Valuable Experience reviewing and interpreting software contracts, license agreements, terms and conditions, and vendor agreements. Ability to identify relevant contractual provisions affecting software usage, licensing rights, restrictions, and compliance Practical experience with Software Asset Management and software discovery/inventory tools Good analytical skills and experience working with large volumes of software asset and licensing data. Experience preparing Effective License Position (ELP) assessments and license compliance reports. Good Microsoft Excel skills.
