About the Job The European Parliament’s Directorate-General for Finance is seeking expressions of interest from candidates with a view to filling a SAP Technical Solution Architect post, based in Luxembourg, to work as a Contract Agent (FG IV) within its FMS Competence Centre Unit. The FMS Competence Centre Unit is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Parliament’s Financial Management System (FMS), as well as other SAP S/4HANA tools related to the financial entitlements of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). The Unit also provides end-user support and training. Recently, the Unit has expanded its mission to become the SAP innovation hub of the European Parliament. This includes extending its current portfolio of SAP applications, preparing the migration of the existing on-premises infrastructure to the cloud (SAP RISE) by 2027, and defining a roadmap for the implementation of a series of AI initiatives. Responsibilities and tasks: You will help turn this transformation into practical technical solutions. Working with external consultants and project teams across different business areas, you will contribute to solution design and implementation, review technical proposals, and help ensure that development standards and security requirements are met.
• Help design SAP solutions across S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and SAP Business Data Cloud.
• Work with external consultants and project teams to translate business needs into appropriate technical solutions.
• Review technical proposals, identify risks, and recommend practical improvements.
• Monitor compliance with development standards and guidelines throughout delivery.
• Keep technical teams aligned through clear communication and effective coordination.
• Assess security risks in private and public cloud solutions.
• Plan and coordinate penetration tests, follow up results, and monitor corrective actions.
• Contribute to the SAP RISE cloud migration and the expansion of our SAP portfolio. What we are looking for: Knowledge and skills
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in IT, telecommunications, or a related field.
• Proven SAP solution architecture experience covering S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, SAP BTP, and SAP Business Data Cloud components.
• Experience assessing security risks for private and public cloud solutions.
• Experience planning, coordinating, and following up penetration tests and corrective actions.
• The ability to evaluate technical solutions and ensure compliance with development standards.
• An analytical mindset: you identify the key issues in complex situations and develop practical, innovative solutions.
• The flexibility to quickly understand different business processes and environments.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and workloads and deliver under tight deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with technical teams and external consultants.
• SAP implementation, migration, or transformation projects is considered as a valuable asset
• Cloud migration initiatives, particularly SAP RISE is considered as a valuable asset
