About Us
MarketLeap is building the first e-commerce operating system — an AI-driven platform that lets direct-to-consumer brands scale effortlessly across global marketplaces, the same way Amazon transformed retail. Since launching in 2022, we've helped brands sell in 30+ countries and raised $10.7M from investors including Smedvig Ventures, Expon Capital, Notion Capital, Motier Ventures, and Kima Ventures. Today's brands lose most of their time and margin just keeping up with the operational complexity of selling on marketplaces — sourcing, pricing, logistics, inventory, compliance — instead of building their products. We're solving that by turning e-commerce operations into software: automating workflows end-to-end, then layering specialized AI agents on top that perceive, decide, and act across the entire value chain — catalog, pricing, marketing, inventory, and logistics. We're a small, technical team tackling a genuinely hard systems problem: building composable, API-first infrastructure that connects to dozens of external marketplaces, suppliers, and carriers, generating the data exhaust needed to train and deploy autonomous agents at scale. If you want to work on AI that actually runs a business rather than just answers questions, and see your code make real, measurable impact on real brands' revenue — this is that kind of place. The role You will own marketplace expansion as an engineering problem. Today our platform runs brands on Amazon across Europe and the US; the next 18 months add Amazon Australia, Canada and Mexico, then eBay, Walmart, Bol.com, Otto, Allegro, and direct-to-consumer fulfilment through Shopify. Your job is to make channel N+1 cheaper than channel N: build each integration end to end (listings, orders, fulfilment, returns, settlements), and shape the abstractions so that what starts as one-off connectors becomes a channel framework. You'll work with deliberately production-grade care: these systems move real orders and real money, so approval workflows, idempotency, and safe-by-default actions are part of the craft, not an afterthought. And you'll build alongside our AI agent program: the integrations you ship become the hands the agents act through.

What you'll do
Build and own marketplace integrations end to end: catalog and listing sync, order ingestion, fulfilment, returns and cancellations, settlement data Design the multi-channel abstraction that keeps five marketplaces from becoming five codebases: shared domain model, per-channel adapters, config over code Ship direct-to-consumer fulfilment on Shopify, including the messy parts (cancellations, returns, refunds) Build approval and draft workflows so bulk actions on live marketplaces are safe by default and reversible by design Own your services in production: Java (Quarkus) microservices on AWS serverless, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and the occasional React screen to operate what you built Expose the actions and events your integrations support to our agent platform, with human-in-the-loop controls Our stack Services: Java (Quarkus) microservices on AWS serverless (Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, S3), infrastructure as code with CDK (TypeScript), CI/CD on CircleCI Integrations today: Amazon SP-API (catalog, pricing, orders, fulfilment, notifications); each new channel adds its own API surface, rate limits, and quirks, which is exactly the fun of it Frontend: React/TypeScript internal platform used daily by our brand operators Data & AI around you: a lakehouse data platform (Airbyte, Prefect, dbt, Athena on Iceberg) and an AI agent program consuming the events and actions your services expose How we work We ship, then sharpen. V1 goes live in weeks, deliberately simple, and earns its sophistication with real usage. One marketplace live and taking orders beats five designed on a whiteboard. You own outcomes, not tickets. "Orders flow and listings sync on the new channel" is the deliverable; how you get there is your call. Our customer is a brand's P&L. Every integration you build ends in revenue: a new country unlocked, an order fulfilled, a listing live. If a feature can't move a brand's number, we don't build it. Small team, no handoffs. Up to 10 engineers, the CTO in the room, and founders one Slack message away. Decisions in days, not quarters. Disagree, commit, measure. We argue with data, decide fast, and let results settle the debate. What we're looking for 5+ years building production backend services, with strong Java (or another JVM language) and comfort in TypeScript Real third-party API integration

experience:
rate limits, retries, idempotency, webhooks, pagination, and the discipline to make external flakiness invisible to users You've owned services end to end in production: design, build, deploy, monitor, and the 2am understanding of what you shipped Comfortable in an event-driven serverless architecture, or strong fundamentals and the appetite to learn one fast Bonus: marketplace APIs (Amazon SP-API, eBay, Walmart, Bol), e-commerce or logistics domain, AWS CDK/Terraform, exposing tools/actions to LLM agents Why this is a rare seat Every marketplace you connect switches on a new country's revenue for every brand on the platform at once; there are few backend jobs where one integration moves that many top lines. You'll own the channel framework of an e-commerce operating system from its early days, on a small senior team, with your services becoming the action layer for a fleet of AI agents.
