Finance Manager, Accounting

Significant experience with an emphasis on accounting and financial reporting, preferably gained within a Big Four firm and / or a multinational organization;
- Excellent communication skills with fluent English;
- Experience managing multiple projects with competing schedules;
- Proficient Microsoft Excel user;
- University degree in Business or Accounting qualification.

Amazon is currently looking for a proactive and result oriented Finance Manager to become a major contributor to our Accounting team based in Luxembourg and to focus on financial reporting and compliance. This role requires excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to senior leadership, as well as a passion to continuously enhance processes and reduce manual efforts through automation or optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Preparation or review of statutory financial statements under local GAAPs;
- Preparation and review of various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting needs, including analytic commentary and the preparation of supplementary financial analysis for management and other stakeholders;
- Actively contributing to improvement initiatives, standardization, re-engineering of processes and controls, and implementation of best practices;
- Working with various cross-functional stakeholders to maintain efficient and compliant accounting and reporting processes, and effective controls;
- Proactively participating in supporting current and future business launch initiatives and other projects;
- Being a key contributor to cross-functional, European and global projects and initiatives, collaborating closely with stakeholders across the organization;
- Demonstrating excellent project management abilities and strong understanding of financial accounting systems;
- Demonstrating strong technical accounting skills required in order to arrive to and document accounting conclusions.
- Big 4 public accounting firm experience with large sized multinational clients. This position would be the equivalent grade of an experienced Manager/Senior Manager role at an accounting firm.
- Thorough level knowledge in reporting requirements under IFRS / US GAAP;
- Certified accountant qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent);
- Substantial experience in end-to-end financial reporting processes, including a strong understanding of statutory filings, internal controls, audits and their related requirements
- Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills, with the ability to summarize and communicate important data to all levels of leadership, and in tailoring communication to the audience
- Experience managing multiple projects with competing schedules
- Proactive, and results-driven, ability to correctly set priorities and meet challenging deadlines
