**Counsel - Corporate (F/M)**: The key requirements for the role are that individuals have an appropriate level of seniority and experience in the jurisdiction. That individuals are considered to have exceptional legal expertise, to be of value to the firm and also excel in providing legal and non-legal contributions to ensure the continued development of the firm and the services it delivers. **Key Responsibilities** - Manage a discreet practice area, developing it in line with annual budget expectations. - Manage all matter financial activities in line with group protocols including time recording, billing, WIP and debt. - Supports and contributes to excellent client service - Mentor, coach and develop junior lawyers in order to enhance their technical knowledge and to be considered as the "go to" person. - Actively generate business for your practice area, your team and the wider group through existing and new client contacts. - Maintain current knowledge of developments in legislation, providing timely updates and / or technical expertise to help shape the developments internally and externally including appropriate Knowledge Management for your specialised area, in conjunction with the PSL for that area. **Skills Knowledge and Expertise** - Provides technically accurate and complex guidance to clients, without the need for comprehensive review by others. - Has a deep and respected knowledge of his/her specialised practice area and a broad and general knowledge of the law in your jurisdiction. - Has an ability to deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders effectively - Delivers and supports excellent client service. - Strong business development abilities - Adopts a positive approach to change, leading by example and contributing positively to the development of the firm. **Additional Skills** - Strong and effective presentation and writing skills with experience in delivering to a range of different audiences - Understanding the environment the client is operating in and responding in a commercial way - Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information - Outstanding communication skills - Good leadership and role model **About Ogier** Ogier provides legal advice on BVI, Cayman, Guernsey, Irish, Jersey and Luxembourg law.
