The Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) is seeking a visionary **Head of Strategic Communications & External Relations** to lead the charge in shaping our voice, amplifying our impact, and building powerful connections across borders and sectors.

As the strategic architect of our communications, you will craft compelling narratives that bring cutting-edge biomedical research to life for diverse audiences—from policymakers and partners to the general public. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of science, media, public affairs, and innovation.

**What You’ll Do**
- Lead with vision: Design and drive a bold, multi-channel communication strategy that aligns with LIH’s mission and fuels our national and international reputation.
- Be our voice: Serve as spokesperson and guide our leadership and researchers in becoming effective ambassadors of our work.
- Connect the dots: Forge strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders—media, government, donors, health institutions, and the broader scientific ecosystem.
- Translate complexity: Transform complex research findings into accessible, human-centered stories that resonate across platforms.
- Amplify our impact: Grow our presence in digital, media, and public spaces through compelling content, high-profile events, and proactive outreach.
- Fuel partnerships: Collaborate closely with fundraising teams and external partners to unlock new opportunities and strengthen our funding base.
- Be crisis-ready: Lead our reputation management efforts, with a strong playbook for crisis communications and fast-paced media environments.
- Inspire and lead: Manage a talented communications team, fostering creativity, agility, and professional growth.

**Who You Are**
- A strategic communicator with a Master’s in Communications, PR, Journalism or related field.
- A seasoned professional with 8+ years of experience, including 5+ in leadership roles—preferably in health, science, research, or mission-driven sectors.
- A skilled storyteller and content strategist, fluent in English (Luxembourgish, German and French are strong assets).
- An expert in media relations, digital engagement, crisis comms, and stakeholder strategy.
- Familiar with the biomedical research landscape and comfortable navigating between scientists, institutions, and the public.
- A confident leader with high emotional intelligence, resilience, and a sharp eye for opportunities.
- Experience in fundraising communication is a plus.
