Head of Communications

The University is seeking an experienced and dynamic head of communications reporting directly to the Rector and leading the University’s central communications department. As the Head of communications, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the University’s communication strategy to support our missions of high-quality education, cutting-edge research, and engagement with society and socioeconomic stakeholders. The position is actively involved in strategic processes of the university and structures the communication measures in direct cooperation with the rectorate.

**Your Role...**:
As head of the department, you will be responsible for the University’s internal and external communication and marketing with all target groups and on all communication channels:

- Developing and implementing a university-wide communications and marketing strategy in order to strengthen the University’s brand positioning and visibility to prospective students, scientists and faculty as well as partners,
- Steering university-wide communications and marketing activities in a multilingual context such as national and international media relations, web presence, social media channels, brand management and student marketing, graphics and corporate design, internal communication, event management,
- Acting as the University’s spokesperson,
- Advising the university leadership on all communication matters, including crisis communication issues,
- Strengthening the University’s Corporate Identity,
- Building relationships with key stakeholders including students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and community partners,
- Fostering the communication of complex scientific information to diverse audiences,
- Establishing a common communication approach and harmonized working methods among communication advisors of the University,
- Leading the team of the central communications department, a team of specialists advising and supporting the communication teams in the University’s faculties and interdisciplinary centres,
- Develop and manage communication budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.

**What we expect from you**:

- University degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or other fields,
- Proven management experience in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications within a multilingual environment,
- Previous experience within the research and innovation sector, in an academic setting or in other public institutions is considered as a plus,
- Proven expertise in brand building and management of marketing processes and campaigns,
- Strong people and organizational skills with a proven experience in leading teams and developing communication structures,
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a complex, matrix-based organization,
- Fluent in French, German and English, Luxembourgish is considered as an asset.
