- Nature of the tasks
- The list of tasks below is non-exhaustive:

- o Create and maintain optimal on premise and cloud-based data pipeline architectures capable of ingesting structured and unstructured data using both batch & streaming methods in a secure, scalable, and efficient manner.
- o Work with stakeholders including the business analytics teams and IT architecture teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- o Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, e.g., automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc...
- o Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources, both internal and external.
- o Design and develop architecture components and building blocks, design and maintain data modelling and data pipelines design.
- o Co-ordinate the implementation of the technical architecture.
- o Draft software architecture documents, technical documentation and user manuals, as well as vision documents focused upon infrastructure components.
- o Assist during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting.
- o Provide the technical interface between the project leaders/business and the developers/technical layers.
- o Participate to meetings with the project teams, as well as technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users.
- Knowledge and skills
- o Expert knowledge in data architecture and databases.
- o Expert knowledge of relational and non-relational data stores.
- o Expert knowledge of business process modelling and analysis.
- o Good knowledge of data processing pipelines, including ETL ingestion and BI dissemination. o Good knowledge of interoperability technologies. o Good knowledge of data governance. o Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies and tools, e.g., TOGAF.
- o Knowledge of Cloud Computing architectures and technologies.
- o Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture.
- o Knowledge of modelling tools and structured techniques (data design patterns, Use Cases and UML).
- o Knowledge of service management applied to data services is an asset.
- o Knowledge of Docker containerisation and software virtualisation and deployment is an asset.
- o Knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum) is an asset.
- Education and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data architecture covering the areas listed above.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in project management (e.g. PM2), Agile or another software development process methodology.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT service management (e.g. ITIL) methodology.
