Amazon's Global Procurement Organization (GPO) seeks a strategic leader to drive our environmental sustainability agenda across our global supply chain. This role will drive Amazon's ambitious goals towards net zero carbon, with direct accountability for environmental strategy across procurement categories representing significant portions of Amazon's carbon footprint.

This role can be based in Luxembourg, London or Barcelona.

Key job responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:

- Develop and execute comprehensive environmental strategies across GPO's global procurement categories
- Lead cross-functional initiatives across Sustainability teams and external partners, engaging with senior leaders
- Drive strategic environmental investment decisions balancing short-term impact and long-term goals
- Own GPO's environmental roadmap, including emission reduction targets, measurement frameworks, and implementation strategies

Technical Leadership:

- Guide development of standardized carbon measurement methodologies across procurement categories
- Drive integration of environmental requirements into procurement processes and supplier selection
- Lead evaluation and implementation of emerging environmental technologies and solutions
- Oversee development of environmental data collection and reporting frameworks

Operational Excellence:

- Build and manage relationships with key suppliers and industry partners
- Drive cost optimization strategies for environmental initiatives
- Develop and implement supplier environmental requirements and compliance programs
- Lead environmental risk assessment and mitigation strategies

Team Leadership:

- Build and lead a high-performing team of environmental professionals
- Foster collaboration across procurement categories and stakeholder groups
- Drive cultural transformation toward environmental leadership
- Develop and implement environmental training and capability building programs

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in team management
- Experience in supply chain
- Extensive experience in supply chain sustainability, environmental program management, or related fields, including demonstrated experience with Scope 3 emissions reduction initiatives.
- Deep understanding of GHG Protocol standards and corporate carbon accounting principles required.
- Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
- Proven track record of driving environmental initiatives at scale
- Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships at senior levels
- Strong understanding of carbon accounting and environmental regulations
- Experience in tech industry or large-scale operations
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Excellent communication and influence skills at executive level

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
