Senior Vat and Compliance Officer

Salonkee is looking for a Senior VAT, DAC 7 and Tax Compliance Officer to take full ownership of VAT, DAC 7, tax compliance and regulatory responsibilities. This role involves ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations, overseeing accurate reporting, and driving the implementation of efficient tax strategies. You will act as the central authority on compliance matters, managing relationships with service providers in each country we operate in and ensuring alignment with internal processes. Additionally, you will oversee transfer pricing and serve as the Compliance and KYC Officer, ensuring regulatory adherence across all operational jurisdictions.

**What will you be doing**:

- Ensure accurate and timely VAT compliance across jurisdictions by collaborating with local service providers, adhering to local and international VAT regulations, providing strategic guidance on VAT-related matters, and staying updated on regulatory changes to assess their impact on the organisation.
- Prepare and lead the end-to-end DAC 7 compliance process, including data collection, validation, and submission in collaboration with service providers, while staying informed on DAC 7 regulations and adapting internal processes to ensure compliance.
- Take ownership of corporate tax filings, ensure compliance with relevant regulations across all jurisdictions, provide accurate tax provisions and disclosures for financial reporting, manage and oversee transfer pricing policies with proper documentation, and identify opportunities for tax optimisation and risk mitigation.
- Develop and maintain robust internal policies and controls to ensure compliance excellence, regularly evaluate and enhance tax and compliance processes, and drive efficiency and accuracy across all activities.
- Act as the Compliance and KYC Officer, ensuring adherence to AML and KYC regulations, implementing compliance programs and training, and conducting regular reviews and audits to maintain organisational integrity.
- Serve as a key advisor to internal teams on tax, compliance, and KYC-related matters, collaborate with finance, legal, and other departments to align compliance initiatives with business strategies, and build strong relationships with service providers and stakeholders to ensure seamless processes.

**What we are looking for in you**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Significant experience in VAT, DAC 7, tax compliance, and transfer pricing, ideally in an international context.
- Professional certification (e.g., CTA, ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of EU VAT, DAC 7 regulations, and transfer pricing guidelines.
- Experience with compliance and KYC requirements, including AML regulations.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in tax compliance software and financial systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to take ownership of processes and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English and German is a plus
