Description
The Compliance Officer is part of the Legal/Regulatory/Compliance team of the Company. The department reports to the CEO and is organized by a Senior Member of the team. The Senior Member is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Legal/Regulatory/Compliance team of JAO.
The Compliance Officer is ensuring consistency of internal procedures with external legislation, rules and agreements (legislative compliance audit scope). The Compliance Officer is responsible for detecting incompliance, defining an implementation plan for mitigating incompliance and monitoring of key compliance concepts of the Company.
**Responsibilities**:
- The Compliance Officer is responsible for the creation of and update of a centralized archive of all policies within the Company in order to ensure consistency of internal policies with external legislation, rules and agreements (legislative compliance audit scope);
- The Compliance Officer is responsible for the identification, assessment and prevention and monitoring of compliance risks;
- The Compliance Officer will work closely together with the Risk Manager in order to ensure that any compliance related risks are appropriately incorporated in the risk overview of the company;
- The Compliance Officer needs to verify whether a legal requirement is applicable (with support of the Legal/Regulatory/Compliance team), assess the impact from not meeting the requirements and provide recommendations on actions/changes on processes and procedures;
- The Compliance Officer is responsible for creating awareness in the Company for compliance standards. Training of stuff for new requirements (legal);
- The Compliance Officer is involved in the monitoring and updating of external regulatory environment.
Must Have Requirements
**Academic Profile**:
- University Degree in Law (3 years after A Level), Fluent in English with excellent written and spoken skills.
**Experience**:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position;
- Familiar with at least several of the following topics; _Know your customer_ (KYC), _Anti Money Laundering_ (AML), _General Data protection Regulation _(GDPR), cybersecurity, due diligence.
**Core Skills**:
- Proficient in MS Office and Excel;
- Ability to translate plans into actions;
- Ability to establish a coherent course of action to achieve goals.
