Finance Manager Investment Accounting Luxembourg

Core markets of the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and France represent over 80% of the portfolio, with a growing presence in the Nordics and Southern Europe. The business has a dedicated team of over 500 staff, with a local presence in each market. To support its Investment Accounting team, Mileway is currently hiring a Finance Manager.

Our Mileway Investment Accounting team, organised by country teams following jurisdictions where logistics assets are held, is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations and compliance of a large portfolio of real estate entities and investments (property and holding companies) in Europe.

1. People management support
Lead a small team of Real Estate Accountants. Delegate tasks effectively, empowering your team to take on more responsibilities and already be a support for the Senior Finance Manager & Regional Finance Manager.
2. Financial accounting
Ensure accuracy of the books of the company including all supporting schedules - loan and interest calculations, depreciation and amortization schedules, etc.
Ensure accurate recording of all local, IFRS and Group GAAP adjustments.
Review intercompany reconciliations and regular intercompany settlements where applicable.
Co-ordinate the audit process, liaising with all auditors to ensure completion on a timely basis.
Assist with preparation of accounting entries, such as acquisitions, disposals and distributions.
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for all financial reporting processes.
3. Property accounting and review
Ensure accuracy of all property manager bookings including reconciliation of rental income to rent rolls, review of all service charge costs and income and accurate allocation of non-recoverable property costs. Show your ability to understand the RE accounting in details through NOI & OPEX analysis.
Support asset management team with ad hoc financial information / analysis as required.
Support in monitoring operating budgets, liquidity and cash management for investments.
Liaison with 3rd party property managers and finance teams across Europe.
4. Tax structuring and compliance
Liaise with external advisors, such as tax advisors, auditors and legal advisors on structuring issues related to disposals.
Work with tax advisors to ensure that tax structuring for investments is complied with and that tax opinions are updated where relevant.
Ensure that all tax filings are kept up to date for the SPVs.
Ensure legal and statutory compliance through liaison with legal advisors.

Profile:

- Degree in Accounting/Finance
- Minimum 8+ years of Finance
- Accounting experience
- Knowledge of Lux GAAP and IFRS (FR GAAP would be a plus)
- Previous experience with direct real estate investments and consolidation is required
- Fluent in English and French
- Proven experience managing and developing a small international team
- Strong ability to develop relationships at all level of the organisations
- Dynamic personality with a desire to lead, learn, mentor and drive processes
- Excellent communication skills with varied stakeholders
- Yardi experience a plus
