About the team and the role:

The Compliance Testing & Monitoring (CTM) team at eBay provides independent oversight to verify that compliance processes and controls are carefully crafted and operating effectively. This role aids the continued development, application, and refinement of the CTM program, working in close partnership with program leads, business partners, and control owners. The position concentrates on testing, monitoring, and data analysis throughout key compliance areas, emphasizing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and related regulatory mandates.

What you will accomplish:

  • Complete sample-based testing and monitoring activities to evaluate the efficiency of compliance processes and controls.

  • Examine policies, procedures, guidelines, and job aids to grasp the full scope of compliance processes and detect control gaps or weaknesses.

  • Analyze large datasets and documentation to evaluate whether controls are operating in line with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.

  • Validate automated and manual benchmarks by performing detailed reviews across multiple systems.

  • Support model validation activities, including risk coverage analysis, data quality assessments, and source-to-surveillance reconciliation.

  • Compile and analyze data for sanctions screening and other monitoring reports, contributing to clear and accurate management reporting.

  • Collaborate with first-line teams and other collaborators to ensure controls are effective and continuously improving.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • At least 5 years of experience in Compliance, with exposure to areas such as internal audit, external audit, banking, or related fields.

  • Working knowledge of AML regulations and concepts, including KYC, EDD, PEPs, sanctions screening, and international AML/CFT standards.

  • Experience with AML customer risk assessment and understanding how risk ratings influence operational processes.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review detailed data, identify issues, and draw well-supported conclusions.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting policies, procedures, or management reports.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including pivot tables), Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Professional certification such as ACAMS, ACFE, ICA, or equivalent is preferred.
