Blackstone Europe Fund Management S.à r.l. ("BEFM") is authorized by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) as (i) a management company under Article Chapter 15) of the Law of 17 December 2010 on undertakings for collective investment, as amended and (ii) an alternative investment fund manager in accordance with the Law of 12 July 2013 on alternative investment fund managers. BEFM manages UCITS and alternative investment funds in a variety of asset classes including private equity, real estate, credit and hedge fund solutions. BEFM is also authorized to manage separately managed accounts.

Job Description

Seeking an Off Cycle Intern for the BEFM Valuation team (BEFM Valuation), which will primarily be responsible for the valuation of investments and the review of the NAV of the Funds under BEFM management.

Responsibilities

 In this role, the Off Cycle Intern will be an integral member of BEFM Valuation in Luxembourg focusing on the review of the valuation material produced by the relevant Blackstone valuation teams and of the NAVs prepared by the Central Administrations. The Off Cycle Intern will have the opportunity to participate in an array of projects and will be expected to participate in all activities as described below:

Key responsibilities of the team include, amongst others:

• Valuation: responsible for the review of valuation of investments portfolio
  • Reviewing the investment committee memo
  • Reviewing the third-party valuation reports and the internal valuation material
  • Produce investment valuation analysis at fund level
  • Discussing with Blackstone valuation teams
  • Execute ad hoc projects and generate monthly and quarterly reporting
• Net asset value: responsible for the oversight of the calculation of the NAV
  • Reviewing the NAV, producing a NAV analytical review
  • Reconciling investments portfolio with NAV
  • Review NAV key indicators
  • Execute ad hoc projects and generate monthly and quarterly reporting
• Participate to the new fund onboardings
• Participate in the improvement of the valuations and NAV oversight processes and procedures as well as the enhancement of technology use and collaboration with offshore resources

Qualifications & Skills

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team, are highly motivated, with sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

• Master's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or similar discipline (CFA and/or CAIA a plus)
• 1-2 years of relevant financial services industry experience (e.g. Private Equity, Real Estate, Banking, Investment Management, Audit/Advisory)
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Familiarity with a wide range of valuation approaches (e.g. Income, Market)
• Analytical and quantitative skills, highly organized
• Efficient team player with resourceful mindset
• Ability to produce creative, compelling, detailed reporting materials
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint required
• Strong appetite to use technology
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and execute a wide range of assignments, strong time management skills, and attention to detail
