ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?

We want you to be a part of our team, from Luxembourg, as a Technical consultant – Ingestion IT Systems Database Administrator Expert.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR DAY-TO-DAY?

• Migration of Cellar store (the semantic repository of Publications Office) from AWS Cloud to another Cloud provider involving migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
• Migrate existing cloud-based Oracle databases (RDS) to PostgreSQL cloud-based databases (setting, data, procedures).
• Removal of Oracle Spatial.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and performance of cloud-based databases during and after the migration.
• Provide technical expertise and support for database-related issues.
• Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and scalability.
• Collaborate with other teams and involvement in other IT systems of the OP and the Data Migration leader to ensure database design meets application requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of data modelling and data warehousing

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

• 7+ years of IT experience, specialising in database administration and cloud environments

• 5+ years as a DBA, with strong focus on cloud migration and database operations

• Solid experience in database design and development

• Advanced knowledge of Oracle, Oracle Spatial, RDS, and PostgreSQL

• Hands-on experience with cloud migration, including data transfer and synchronisation

• Familiar with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

• Additional exposure to Linux, network fundamentals, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
