Your role – Are you ready for a challenge?

Based in Luxembourg or Portugal, the Wealth Planner will play a key role in the implementation of Utmost Wealth Solutions product and marketing strategy for Portugal as identified in the group business plans under the direction of the Head of Tax & Legal – Portugal/Brazil in Group Technical Services by providing Tax, Legal and Regulatory Support, Product Literature Development and Project Management.

Your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Provide in-house technical expertise on all Portuguese tax, legal & regulatory matters relating to Utmost Wealth Solutions new and existing products.
• Provide practical solutions to the Utmost sales department in relation to structuring new sales to ensure they are compliant and tax efficient.
• Undertake Portuguese tax, legal and regulatory review of the technical content in product marketing materials.
• Ensure Utmost Wealth Solutions Portuguese product offering documentation and technical materials are compliant in Portugal at all times.
• Develop extensive knowledge of Utmost Wealth Solutions products.
• Monitor new Portuguese insurance regulations and tax legislation and analyse how they affect Utmost products.
• Develop, review and negotiate legal documentation to support business development initiatives relating to Utmost Wealth Solutions products that is legally robust and commercially viable.
• Responsible for the development and maintenance of the online multi-jurisdictional tax support portal and related tax materials in conjunction with specialist team members.
• Manage external legal and tax firms where advice is required on Utmost Wealth Solutions products and other department initiatives including negotiation of engagements and negotiation of fees.
• Advise on Portuguese legal issues relating to product launches.
• Contribute to any product or department-related training programmes for the business to ensure staff have the knowledge needed to carry out their roles.

Your profile – Have you got what it takes to become our Wealth Planner?

• Qualified Portuguese tax advisor / solicitor / lawyer or similar with post qualified experience of at least 5 years.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Experience working in a Portuguese Law firm or Tax firm (Big 4's would be a preference).
• Experience in Portuguese Personal Income Tax.
• Experience of insurance product material design and support.
• Experience delivering commercially viable tax, legal & regulatory advice.
• Additional experience working within a legal / tax technical role in an Insurance Company or other Financial Services company would be considered an asset.
  
• Additional knowledge of corporate, commercial, securities/funds and insurance law would be considered an asset.
• Additional knowledge of contract law in insurance business/financial services would be considered an asset.
• Strong management skills in terms of managing people, budgets, relationships and planning around tight deadlines.
• A proven ability to build good relationships and contacts with staff, managers and directors.
• High level negotiation & influencing skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and an ability to translate complex legal issues and advice into more easily understandable language.
