Job Summary:
Rakuten Europe Bank is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Compliance operation associate to join and lead our compliance team. The incumbent will lead the Compliance Operation team ensuring the bank’s adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. This involves the support REB’s Banking and Payment services by performing key AML/CTF Due diligence processes throughout the account opening of new clients and periodic reviews/monitoring of existing client. This role involves assisting in the development and implementation of compliance programs, conducting compliance reviews, and providing support in regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform critical processes and controls - such as, but not limited to: AML/CTF due diligence process; transaction monitoring; periodic reviews and name screening in accordance with relevant policies and procedures and meeting performance and quality expectation
- Ensure active identification and escalations of risks to line Manager
- Documentation of performed processes (process maps; training materials; work instructions)
- Provide ad-hoc reports on working routines
- Proactive identification of customer experience and process improvement opportunities
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement
- Liaise with internal and external parties
- Assist Line Manager in ad-hoc assignments as necessary
- Oversee and optimizing the team’s daily and weekly tasks
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of compliance policies to ensure they remain current and effective.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A relevant professional certification
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a compliance role performing KYC / AML within the banking or financial services industry.
- Experience in supporting compliance programs and conducting compliance reviews.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in compliance software and tools.
- Ability to liaise with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
