As the Head of Compliance Operations, you will be responsible for operating Mangopay's compliance policies and procedures. Your role will involve reviewing and improving the compliance operations framework, simplifying complexities, acting with a proper sense of urgency whilst ensuring an excellent customer experience. Your expertise will be crucial in building and promoting compliance as a business enabler across the organisation, together with the VP of Compliance.
**What will you be responsible for?**
- **Drive the Compliance Operations** and manage the Financial crime-, KYC/KYB-, transactions monitoring-, compliance operations teams;
- **Providing Operational Excellence**: ensure appropriate operational strategies, controls, metrics, and procedures are in place to effectively manage compliance risks.
- **Drive and/or support Compliance team projects**, initiatives and process improvements.
- **Design and implement an effective self-assurance testing plans** and result reporting to second line testing teams (Compliance SLOD and Internal Controls).
- Ensure **compliance procedures and relevant training modules are kept up-to-date **and delivered in a timely manner.
- **Support periodic compliance reporting** to senior management including compliance testing reporting and key compliance data for the Risk and Compliance management Committees.
- **Proactive Operational Risk Management**: Establish effective controls to identify, measure, monitor, and report emerging and future ops risks, ensuring timely action is taken to mitigate potential issues.
- **Support the annual Compliance Roadmap planning** and execution process.
- **Assure contingency plans** are in place for all compliance operations services to include business recovery plans.
- **Maximise utilisation of resources** and drive cost control measures across operations.
**What do we expect from you?**
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Senior Compliance and/or compliance operations roles preferably in Payments Solutions and/or well-established FinTech companies.
- Experience managing multiple teams with **proven ability to drive high performance results** across those teams using OKRs or similar performance management metrics.
- Demonstrate an ability to **improve compliance operations programs** such as KYC/KYB/transaction monitoring, controls.
- **Strong communication and influence skills** with multiple levels of business unit/senior management, second line teams, internal audit and external auditors/regulators.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, particularly in the Luxembourg and EU financial services sector
- Leadership: Inspire and guide the Compliance operation teams, while influencing stakeholders across the organisation, building trust within the organisation and with external stakeholders.
- Proactive approach, "hands-on", and problem-solving capabilities are essential.
- English mandatory, French/German or Spanish would be an asset
