Seeking an Associate for BEFM Fund Finance Oversight team (FFO), which will primarily be responsible for the oversight of the delegated (or assimilated) activities in relation to BEFM-managed UCITS funds. The Associate will also be exposed to alternative investment strategies by supporting BEFM FFO on BEFM-managed AIFs.
**Responsibilities**:
In this role, the Associate will be a key member of the FFO team responsible for:
- Oversight of counterparties: responsible for oversight on certain delegated or assimilated functions including Central Administrations and Depositary Banks
- Ongoing monitoring of the delegated or assimilated activities (e.g. due diligences, KPIs, on-site visit)
- Coordination of the initial and periodic due diligences needed (e.g. sub-custodian, depositary due diligence)
- Implement, enhance processes (e.g. operating memorandum)
- Day to day contact with delegates, Depositary Banks and other key vendors
- Control budget and fees
- Reporting: responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of regulatory and financial reporting (e.g., Audits, Tax, AIFMD Annex IV, AIFMD Annual Reports)
- Coordination and review of the regulatory and financial reporting, before filing to the competent authorities and key shareholders
- Coordination of the contractual and statutory audits as well as tax compliance
- Prepare NAV error reporting to the regulator if needed
- Develop and maintain an efficient collaboration with Blackstone offices
- Effective and Efficient Operations: management of the FFO offshore consultants, ensuring that responsibilities and tasks are appropriately assigned and monitored
- Participate in re-engineering initiatives to drive enhancements to FFO, support launch of new fund onboardings and delegates and actively participate in Blackstone Technology operating and development priorities
- Maintain and develop policies and procedures, ensuring a strong collaboration with the regulatory watch team
Qualifications & Skills
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team, are highly motivated, with a sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or similar discipline
- +4 years of relevant financial services industry experience (e.g., Depositary Bank, Audit, Fund administration) with good understanding of UCITS operations
- Knowledge of the local regulatory requirements in relation to UCITS funds as well as in relation to AIFM (e.g., circ. CSSF 18/698, 18/697, 22/811)
- Previous exposure to Irish funds is an asset (e.g., Irish GAAP)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and consistently and proactively delivers accurate, high-quality work
- Highly organized, goal oriented, and solutions focused with a focus on continuous improvement
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability, manages work independently and knows when to escalate matters
- Works collaboratively across the team, contributing to a dynamic and inclusive team environment
- Provides mentorship, motivation, and encouragement to colleagues
