**Brief description**:
The US Learning Support Teacher is a resource person for students, parents and teachers. The US Learning Support Teacher will be familiar with the most recent developments and best practice in the area of Learning Support inclusion in a multi-tiered approach (MTSS). The US Learning Support Teacher is an integral part of the wider school Learning Support Services Team.

**Profile**:
- Recent successful experience supporting Upper School students, especially G8-G10, up to the IB DP diploma;
- Experience working in a collaborative teaching situation, a co-teaching model and with a demonstrated capacity or interest in working with teachers and students
- Ability to interpret appropriate psycho-educational testing results and / or ELL assessments as applicable
- Experience with MYP preferred
- Experience with/ knowledge of UDL approaches preferred
- Mathematics background preferred to support students in Maths and Science;
- Recent successful teaching in an international school setting;
- Current teaching certificate or equivalent;
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (MA preferred) in Special Needs Education / Learning Needs, and at least two years’ recent successful experience teaching and working with secondary students with learning difficulties;
Equivalence with minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (MA preferred), and at least five years’ recent successful experience teaching and working with secondary students with learning difficulties;
- Fluency in English (near native level);
- Familiarity with recent developments in secondary school Learning Support education as applicable;
- Familiarity and fluency with technology supported learning;
- Technologically competent in basic resources and programmes.
- Understanding of and experience with teaching students who are English Language Learners.
- Understanding of and experience with teaching students who have learning differences.

The International School of Luxembourg (ISL) is an independent, non-profit, day school situated in the city of Luxembourg, capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Founded in 1963, ISL has been an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School since 1995, offering both the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). The school is currently working towards accreditation for the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).
ISL has two sections: the Lower School, and the Upper School, the latter comprising of Middle School and High School. Total school enrolment is approximately 1,350 students, aged 3-18 years. The ISL student body represents more than 60 nationalities, with 70% of students coming from extended Europe.

The school is fortunate to employ around 300 outstanding teachers, support staff and administrators.
Our faculty and staff come from more than two dozen different countries. Their international background and experience contribute to a learning environment that responds to the students' cultural diversity and meets the needs of an international student population.
ISL educators are trained and certified in their respective fields and more than half of them hold Masters' degrees. Our faculty and staff average 18 years of experience in education with eight of them at ISL. Some teachers come to Luxembourg for just a few years and then move on to new positions elsewhere. Others remain at ISL for much of their career: 12% of the teaching staff has served the school for 20 years or more. In recent years ISL has created a number of new positions in response to increasing enrolment, however staff turnover is actually rather low.
