TASK RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director Procurement and Administration will be responsible for all procurement activities within Cargolux and its 3 departments: Procurement, Corporate Travel Services and Facility Management. The position holder needs to be a true advisor & partner to the business and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
He/she will be in charge of:
- Leading the team of approx. 30 employees
- Redefining the Procurement strategy: set up an organization procurement process and strategy, analyze and improve the existing processes, monitor, and guide all department in their procurement activities
- Monitoring the market trends, vendors and their pricing models, service delivery and performance management, and relevant innovations
- Guaranteeing the scouting and the definition of the supplier base according to criteria of quality of service, cost, sustainability, market benchmarking, flexibility, in order to have the best partnership and bring the most value to the company business
- Leading the supplier scouting & qualification process, vendor relationship model, tendering process, negotiations and contract signing, in accordance with defined guidelines, with the target to create value ensuring that company’s operational needs are met, fostering innovation, sustainability and managing risks
- Monitoring supplier’s performance in terms of economics, service level, financials, quality, innovation
- Ensuring a combination of cost efficiency and stability in Operations across the departments by negotiating with suppliers, revieing contracts / offers and reviewing market situations
- Ensuring smooth operation of all Cargolux facilities in accordance with legal and operational requirements: plan necessary maintenance of all building, ensure all legal frameworks are adhered to, manage office space allocation
- Corporate Travel worldwide: ensure contracts with all hotels are competitive and meet required criteria, ensure internal service levels are met
- Further improve digitalization of Procurement activities within Cargolux
- Ensuring the collaboration and support to the stations in the CV network in order to optimize and standardize the procurement processes, maximizing the process performance
- Managing the portfolio of global suppliers, rationalizing existing one at global and region level and introducing new ones at global level
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
- Master's Degree in Economics/business administration, Finance, Accounting or similar
- Minimum 7 years of experience within a procurement function and other areas such as sourcing, vendor management
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial position including people management
- Knowledge of the global market dynamics and familiarity with corporate relationship model
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, procurement techniques and best practices
- Proven capability in strategy definition
- Experience in drafting legal, procedural and procurement-related documents, notes and briefs and how to disseminate and make them digestible by the end users
- Being an outstanding customer service orientated person able to act as an internal service provider for all procurement and sourcing matters within the organization
- You fell at ease to work under pression and with tight deadlines and moving targets
- Proven and pragmatic executive, a background in the airline industry would be an advantage
- Strategic mindset, comfortable with analysis of data and able to represent results in a clear and concise manner
- Results oriented and solution driven with good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communication, intercultural and negotiation skills combined with the ability to interact with stakeholders (internal/external) from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Fluency in written and spoken English. German, French and Luxembourgish are a distinct advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Full time position based in Luxembourg
- Flexible with working hours
- Occasional travel required
- A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection
