**You’d like to contribute as a researcher? Join our Materials Research and Technology department**:
Through its research into advanced materials and processes, the “Materials Research and Technology” (MRT) department, with its 200 researchers and engineers, contributes to the emergence of enabling technologies that underpin the innovation processes of local and international industry. MRT’s activities hinge on four thematic pillars: nanomaterials and nanotechnology, scientific instrumentation and process technology, structural composites, and functional polymers.

The department also includes four high-tech platforms, focusing on composites, prototyping, characterization and testing. These platforms serve both LIST research staff, and other stakeholders in Luxembourg.

**How will you contribute?**:
This position is part of the Sustainable Composite Materials & Manufacturing (SCMM) Innovation Centre, which is supported by the Ministry of Research, the Ministry of Economy, and LIST. The SCMM Innovation Centre is dedicated to addressing the challenges in the transportation sector, with a focus on achieving zero-emission mobility solutions. Leading automotive, rail, aeronautic, and space Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as Toyota, Airbus, Thales Alenia Space, and Alstom endorse the centre's vision and contribute to the research and technology roadmap.

LIST's mission within this framework is to accelerate the adoption of bio-based and/or recyclable materials for ultra-lightweight functional parts, while also developing low carbon footprint industrial processes. The centre aims to integrate these technological advancements through the creation of demonstrators, collaborating with composite material manufacturers who are members of the SCMM. These demonstrations will encompass vehicle bodywork, interior panels, and structural components.
